A written request by the data subject to establish the existence of personal data by a firm on a data subject must be replied to within 21 days, giving a description of such data and why it is kept.

If the data held about someone is incorrect, then the data subject can request it be corrected and if the reason for its collection in the first place is no longer relevant the data subject can request it being deleted.
