Establish Enterprise Data Warehouse

Role: MetLife had purchased the IBM’s Insurance Information Warehouse (IIW) as the model for their data warehouse initiative. There were 6 systems across MetLife that were the source systems for the warehouse. The role was to provide business analysis, solution architecture, data analysis and IIW knowledge to the team.

Worked with senior management across all business units in MetLife conducting workshops, interviews and business requirements gathering sessions.

Analysis and documentation of all reports and extracts (over 650) across MetLife. Rationalisation of requirements down to 110 reports and extracts. Data mapping for all reports and extracts, identifying all source system data and mapping them to

the IIW models. Creation of source/target data mapping documents Analysis of all MetLife source systems across individual policy administration, claims, call centre,

group administration, underwriting, customer service and distribution. Business process current and target state analysis Development of Business Requirements for reporting, analytics, COGNOS cubes and datamarts Design the Operational Data Store (ODS) by developing a flexible financial services information
