NEW ARO Essentials New Model And ARO Essentials AccessoryEffective September 2008, Mopar 5300 will offer dealerships enrolled in the Automatic Replenishment Order (ARO) program with the opportunity to expand their Guaranteed Inventory to include:

• ARO Essentials New Model Program.

• ARO Essentials Accessory Program – Including Mopar Accessory Headquarters (HQ).

These new ARO programs are being rolled out in response to dealer feedback to provide you with the opportunity to stock ARO Essentials New Model and ARO Essentials Accessory parts in advance of actual demand to better anticipate your customers’ needs.

The Mopar-recommended Best Stocking Levels (BSLs) for ARO Essentials New Model and ARO Essentials Accessory parts are based on your individual dealership’s Group Size and are franchise-specific, so you can be confident that the recommendations are appropriate for your dealership’s parts operation.

The ARO expansion to include these programs will provide your dealership with many enhanced benefits, including:

• Providing Guaranteed Inventory for ARO Essentials New Model and ARO Essentials Accessory to protect against obsolescence.

• Improving your customer satisfaction, loyalty and retention.

• Improving your Off-the-Shelf Fill (OSF) rates.

• Improving your Fixed First Visit (FFV) scores.

• Increasing your Mopar Parts retail and wholesale penetration.

• Increasing your Mopar Accessory share.

• Improving your Dealer Rewards performance.

The Many Benefits of AROCurrently, more than 2400 Mopar dealerships are reaping these benefits through the ARO program. On average ARO helps increase these dealerships’ OSF rate by 7.3 percentage points compared with non-ARO dealers. Improved OSF ratings can increase your customer satisfaction, loyalty and retention as well as your Fixed First Visit (FFV) scores. These benefits in turn will lead to increased retail and wholesale parts sales, market penetration and profits for your dealership. What’s more, as you can see from the chart below, ARO helps all dealer group sizes to improve their performance.

How ARO Essentials WorksThe new ARO Essentials New Model and ARO Essentials Accessory programs accomplish these benefits in exactly the same manner as with any other ARO parts. The ARO application:

• Automatically proposes when a Mopar Part Number should begin to be stocked.

• Calculates a Best Stocking Level (BSL) by Mopar Part Number to optimize parts availability.

• Minimizes inactive inventory by providing Guaranteed Inventory protection.

• Automatically generates a daily stock order and replenishes stock as needed.

• Automatically generates a return for inactive parts that have been stocked through ARO.

By participating directly with each individual dealership’s Dealer Business System (DBS) to generate daily parts orders, the ARO Essentials New Model and ARO Essentials Accessory programs can help further optimize your dealership’s stocking levels and efficiencies.

This brochure highlights the modifications made to various ARO screens, functionality and reports to better accommodate the new ARO Essentials programs. To make sure you have this information available, file this brochure with your ARO Quick Reference Guide.

You can continue to access the ARO screens using the same process currently in place. To access the ARO program use the following pathway on DealerCONNECT: Parts > Order Parts > Automatic Replenishment Order.

Message Center BSL Approvals Part Action Add Parts to ARO 5300 Part Inquiry BSL Inquiry Reports Dealer Settings

ARO Message Center TabThe ARO Message Center Tab is the default tab that is automatically displayed when you link to ARO through DealerCONNECT. The screen summarizes the pending ARO BSLs that need to be reviewed and approved by the dealership.

Dealerships participating in the new ARO Essentials New Model and/or ARO Essentials Accessory program will now find additional messages in the Message Display Window on the screen that indicate:

• The number of ARO Essentials parts that have been added to your BSL Approval List. 1

• The number of ARO Essentials parts that have been automatically approved based on the dealership’s Automatic Approval settings, which are located on the ARO Dealer Settings screen. 2

In all other aspects, the ARO Message Center screen remains the same and you can continue to use the screen exactly as you have in the past.

ARO BSL Approvals Tab – Results Sub-tabThe ARO BSL Approvals Tab – Results Sub-tab, which is the default screen displayed when clicking on the BSL Approvals Tab, is used to take action on pending BSLs by either approving, excluding or modifying the Mopar ARO recommendations.

The BSL Approvals Tab – Results Sub-Tab now includes the following enhancements and additions:

• ARO Essentials New Model and ARO Essentials Accessory parts on the screen can be easily and quickly located by the presence of a bold blue “E” located immediately after the Part Number in the Part Number column. 1

• The number of ARO Essentials New Model parts 2 and ARO Essentials Accessory parts 3 that are awaiting dealership approval are highlighted in the Message Area.

• Essential New Model (EN) and Essential Accessory parts (EA) also are now displayed in the Pending BSL Type column. 4 Rolling your cursor (mouse) over the two-letter BSL Type code displays a pop-up box that shows the full definition for each of the BSL Types.

In all other aspects, the BSL Approvals Tab – Results Sub-tab remains the same, and you can continue to use the screen exactly as you have in the past.

ARO BSL Approvals Tab – Criteria Sub-tabThe ARO BSL Approvals Tab – Criteria Sub-tab is used to filter pending ARO BSLs, enabling you to focus on a specific group of parts. Using the screen, criteria can be selected to modify the contents of the ARO BSL Approvals Tab – Results Sub-tab. The criteria are applied only to the pending BSLs, and should not be confused with the functions of the BSL Inquiry Tab screen (see Page 8).

The ARO BSL Approvals Tab – Criteria Sub-tab now includes the following enhancements and additions:

• The Message Area, where ARO application system messages are displayed, now includes entries for Essentials New Model and Essentials Accessory. 1

• The Pending BSL Type box now includes the ability to filter Pending BSLs by Essential New Model and Essential Accessory types. 2

In all other aspects, the BSL Approvals Tab – Criteria Sub-tab remains the same, and you can continue to use the screen exactly as you have in the past.

ARO Part Action Tab The ARO Part Action Tab displays Part and BSL information for a specific Mopar Part Number, regardless of ARO status. This screen is used to take action on an individual Mopar Part Number. From the ARO Part Action Tab screen you can take action on or approve a BSL and/or part level override settings for the specific part.

The ARO Part Action Tab screen now includes the following enhancements and additions:

• The Supersession field has been expanded to include previous Part Numbers and new Part Numbers for the Part Number entered. 1

• A new End of Chain Effective Date field, indicating the date of the most recent change to the Part Number, has been added. 2

• The Dealer Net (USD) field has been relocated to right-hand side of the screen. 3

• A new ARO Part Compliance field has been added. 4

• A new Advanced Stocking Type E (for ARO Essentials New Model or ARO Essentials Accessory) field has been added. 5

• A new ARO Part Class field 6 replaces the previous ARO State field, 7 which has been relocated. Note that scrolling your cursor (mouse) over this field will display a pop-up box with Part Class details. (See insert box.)

• A new ARO Phase In field has been added. 8 Note that the new ARO Phase In field contains the requirements for phase-in, based on historical demand. The requirements are displayed in bold type on the screen.

In all other aspects, the ARO Part Action Tab screen remains the same, and you can continue to use the screen exactly as you have in the past with the addition of these new fields that supply additional ARO information to you.

BSL Inquiry Tab – Criteria Sub-tabThe BSL Inquiry Tab – Criteria Sub-tab is the default screen, which enables you to create inquiries to reference both ARO-controlled and non-ARO-controlled parts for your review. All BSLs are available for selection on this screen, not just pending BSLs.

The BSL Inquiry Tab – Criteria Sub-tab screen now includes the following enhancements and additions:

• The Pending BSL Type box now includes the ability to filter Pending BSLs by Essential New Model and Essential Accessory types. 1

• A new Advanced Stocking Type field includes a box 2 from which you can select:– All Advanced Stocking Types– New Model Essential– Accessory Essential– Regional

• The Sort By drop-down box has been relocated below the new Advanced Stocking Type field. 3

In all other aspects, the BSL Inquiry Tab – Criteria Sub-tab remains the same, and you can continue to use the screen exactly as you have in the past.

Reports TabThe ARO Report Tab is used to reference ARO reports and lists available reports on a menu on the left-hand side of the screen.

The ARO Report Tab screen now includes the following enhancements and additions:

• An updated Inventory Summary Report 1 is now available.

• A new Accessory Compliance Summary Report 2 is now available.

• 2 new Essentials Acceptance Summary Reports 3 are available.– New Model Essentials 4

Inventory Summary Report The ARO Inventory Summary Report provides current counts and dollar figures on proposed versus actual inventory divided into three sections In Compliance, Out of Compliance and No Compliance. The report now contains some additional fields:

• In Compliance 1 – Now includes:– Unmodified Essentials– Increased Essentials

• No Compliance Impact 2 – Now includes:– Decreased Essentials– Essentials Excluded for 52 weeks– Essentials Excluded for 10 weeks

These new field entries are also carried down into the totals under all report sections (Current BSLs, Actual Inventory (QAV) and Orders (QOO + QOH + IP), as well as within the “total” fields in each section.

Accessory Compliance Summary ReportThe new Accessory Compliance Summary Report provides monthly summaries of Accessory compliance counts and percentages for the last 12 months taken from weekly compliance snapshots for each participating dealership. The report basically contains the same fields as currently used on the ARO Compliance Summary Report, but includes only the specific Accessory product lines listed at the top of the report. Your dealership’s participation status in each of the Essential programs is also displayed at the top right-hand of the page, as selected in your Dealer Settings Tab.

NOTE: Accessory Compliance – This compliance percentage displays compliance to Accessory Product Line parts only. This is not reflective of your ARO Compliance. This metric is intended to reflect your acceptance rates of ALL accessory parts recommended by either ARO recommendations or ARO Essentials Accessory.


Accessory Essentials and New Model Essentials Acceptance Summary ReportsThe new Accessory Essentials and New Model Essentials Acceptance Summary Reports contains similar information, sections and fields to the ARO Compliance Report, except that the “In Compliance” and “Out of Compliance” sections are replaced with “Accepted” and “Not Accepted” sections. In addition, there is no “Compliant” field on the Accessory Essentials Acceptance Summary Report, as accepting ARO-recommended BSLs for Accessories can improve your overall ARO compliance rating, but cannot affect it adversely.

NOTE: Acceptance levels for ARO Essentials New Model and ARO Essentials Accessory parts can improve your overall ARO Compliance Rating, but CAN NOT adversely affect your overall ARO Compliance Rating.



Dealer Settings TabThe Dealer Settings Tab displays the Primary Sub-tab as the default screen display. The Primary Sub-tab is used to set global parameters specific to your dealership to assist you in approving ARO BSLs. You can use the parameters to automatically approve ARO BSLs, thereby avoiding manual reviews. If you set new parameters, they will become effective after your nightly system update.

The new ARO Dealer Settings – Primary Sub-tab now includes the following enhancements and additions:

• New Dealer Group Size field 1

• A new Advanced Stocking Essential Part Settings section 2 with the following fields and check boxes:– New Model Essential Parts 3

– Accessory Essential Parts 4

– Accessory Headquarters Program 5

Clicking on the icon next to each of these fields will link you to an information page for the specific program. The information page contains the features, functions and benefits for the specific program as well as contact information.

Performance MeasuresTo obtain the new Vehicle Essentials Stocking Report, click on the Parts Tab and the Report Selection Sub-tab screen will be displayed. Select the Vehicle Essentials Stocking button, and next select the Model Year and/or Vehicle and/or Portfolio from the respective drop-down boxes. Click on the Submit button and the new Vehicle Essentials Stocking Report will be displayed.

This report has been modified and enhanced from the previous report to accommodate the additions of the new ARO Essentials New Model and ARO Essentials Accessory programs. Your dealership’s participation status in each of the Essentials programs, as selected in the Dealer Settings Tab, is displayed in the header section of the new Vehicle Essentials Stocking Report. This report also contains several new and repositioned fields to better enhance their visibility.

• Effective ARO BSL

• Essentials BSL
