the County of Cabell scheduled for Tuesday evening, April 7, 2015, at 5:30 p.m., in the Administrative
Office of the Board of Education, 2850 Fifth Avenue, Huntington, West Virginia.
This meeting is a meeting of the Board of Education in public for the purpose of conducting the County
School System’s business and is not to be considered a public community meeting. There is a time for
public participation during the meeting as indicated in agenda item, Delegations to be Heard.

Minutes of February 24, 2015 (Employee Hearing/Transfer), March 24, 2015 (Expulsion Hearings),
March 24, 2015 (Special Meeting), March 24, 2015 (Regular Meeting), and March 31, 2015 (Expulsion
Hearings) are being presented for approval.
2171. SCHOOL TRIP REQUEST – CABELL MIDLAND HIGH SCHOOL
The Superintendent recommends approval of the Cabell Midland High School’s trip request to travel to
Cleveland and Sandusky, OH on May 21 – May 23, 2015 to participate in an orchestra performance with
the Cleveland Symphony. Forty-five (45) students will be traveling along with five (5) chaperones. One
(1) day of school will be missed and transportation will be provided by a Private Bus Company. Expenses
will be paid from school funds.
2172. SCHOOL TRIP REQUEST – HUNTINGTON HIGH AND HUNTINGTON MIDDLE SCHOOLS
The Superintendent recommends approval of Huntington High School’s and Huntington Middle School’s
trip request to travel to Orlando, Florida on April 23-28, 2015 to participate in the Academic Games Leagues
of America (AGLOA) National Competition. Four (4) days of school will be missed and six (6) students
along with two (2) chaperones will be on this trip. A 15-passenger mini-van, provided by the county, will
be the means of transportation and expenses will be paid from county funds.

TECHNOLOGY CENTER
The Superintendent recommends approval for the purchase of the following technology items for the
Cabell County Career Technology Center as part of our computer replacement cycle:

102 engineering level computers and monitors
55 15" laptop computers
60 X131e netbook computers
2 netbook carts
53 classroom laser printers
1 Epson 17" color printer
25 5-port Ethernet switches
5 16-port Ethernet switches

All items will be purchased from our previously approved preferred vendor contract currently held by
nCompass Networks, Inc. The total cost of $332,888.50 will come from county technology replacement
fund.

2175. MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE WEST VIRGINIA UNIVERSITY
COOPERATIVE EXTENSION SERVICE, COUNTY EXTENSION SERVICE COMMITTEE, AND
CABELL COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION
The Superintendent recommends that the Board of Education continue this memorandum of agreement at
the current appropriation of $13,000 for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2015.
