Introduction

One face to the customer Focal points of our current service range

Nexans Deutschland is one of the leading cable manufacturers in Europe.

It offers a comprehensive range of high-performance cables, systems and components for telecommuni-cations and the energy sector. The company’s product range is roun-ded off by superconductive ma-terials and components, Cryofl ex transfer systems and special machi-nes for the cable industry. It opera-tes production facilities in Germany and abroad and has a workforce of around 6,700. Through its close incorporation into the Nexans Group, Nexans Deutschland enjoys outstanding opportunities to use synergies in all areas of the Group. This applies for global projects as well as for research and develop-ment, exchange of expertise, etc.

The Building division, with its headquarters in Vacha, Thuringia, employs 250 people. Installation cables systems, PVC-insulated industrial cables as well as 1 kV copper and aluminium cables are manufactured here. The factory entered operation in 1993 and

works in accordance with the latest information about cable produc-tion, with the necessary high-quality machinery. This modern technology facilitates rational manufacturing and cost-effective handling. Our delivery program is adapted to the needs of the customer. It covers all types of cables and cabling systems required by fi tters and by wholesale dealers in electrical goods and is regularly updated in order to meet market requirements. The constant further development and optimi-sation of the production process guarantees consistent quality which does justice to the high demands of our customers. In addition, developers and our experienced distribution team work together with the customer in order to implement customer-specifi c requirements.

The Nexans Deutschland logistic centre is located at the Vacha site. One of the most modern logistic centres for cables and cabling systems, it was expanded to make room for low voltage cables in addition to installation and industri-al cabling systems, and also offers just-in-time and additional services.

Self-limiting heating strip for domestic technology and easy industrial applicationsSL-N-20-2-AM FLEXWELL®

StructureFine-stranded copper conductor, tin-pla-ted, VPE insulation. Screening provided by a longitudinal shrinking aluminium strip and a copper conductor as well. Outer sheath polyolefi n, black in colour.

UsageFrost protection as well as compensation for heating losses is designed to prevent roof grooves, pipes and containers freezing at ambient temperatures of less than 0 °C. The temperatures of pumping media are maintained at the target value by means of an electrical secondary heater. This prevents the temperature from dropping and causing a change in the physical or chemical characteristics of the medium. Output: 20 Watt/m.
