With the key in the off position:

1. Connectthe16-pinharnesswithstrippedleads,andthe3018harness,intothe Axxessinterface.

2. Locatethefactoryantennaconnectorinthedashandcompleteallnecessaryconnectionsto theradio.MetrarecommendsusingtheproperantennaadapterfromMetra.

3. Completeallnecessaryconnectionstothefactoryradio/climatecontrols.(FigureA)

4. IfanASWC-1(soldseparately)willbeused,donotconnectituntilthe99-3018Sis programmedandfullyfunctional.

Attention!Donotconnectthe3018harnesstothewiringharnessinthevehiclejustyet.

PROGRAMMING THE INTERFACE ADJUSTING THE INTERFACE

Forthestepsbelow,theL.E.D.locatedinsidetheinterfacecanonlybeseenwhileactive.TheinterfacedoesnotneedtobeopenedtoseetheL.E.D.

Iftheinterfaceeverlosespower,thefollowingstepswillneedtobeperformedagain,startingfrom“Troubleshooting”,“ResettingtheAxxessinterface”.Pleaseensurethattheownerofthevehicleknowsthis.

1. Ensureallentrypointsareclosedincludingthehood,thenstartthevehicle.

2. Connectthe3018harnesstothewiringharnessinthevehicle.TheL.E.D.willinitiallybesolid Greentoindicatetheinterfaceispowered.

3. AfterafewsecondstheL.E.D.willturnsolid Redwhiletheinterfaceautomaticallyprograms tothevehicle.Theradiowillshutoffatthispoint.Thisprocessshouldtake5to30seconds.

4. OncetheinterfacehasbeenprogrammedtheL.E.D.willturnsolidGreen,thentheradiowill comebackon,indicatingprogrammingwassuccessful.

5. Turnthekey(orpushtostartbutton)totheoffposition,waitforthedomelighttogoout, thenopenandclosethedriver’sdoor.

6. Startthevehicle,thentestallfunctionsoftheinstallationforproperoperation.

7. Iftheinterfacefailstofunction,referto“Troubleshooting”,“ResettingtheAxxessinterface”.

Note:TheL.E.D.willturnonsolidGreenforamoment,andthenturnoffundernormaloperationafterthekeyhasbeencycled.

Audio level adjustment (digital amplified models only):

• Withthevehicleandradioturnedon,turnthevolumeup3/4oftheway.

• Withasmallflat-bladescrewdriver,adjustthepotentiometerclockwisetoraisetheaudio level;counterclockwisetolowertheaudiolevel.

• Onceatadesiredlevel,audioleveladjustmentiscomplete

Chime level adjustment:

• Wait10seconds,andthenwithasmallscrewdriver,turnthepotentiometerclockwiseto raisethechimelevel;counterclockwisetolowerthechimelevel.

• Whenthechimeisatadesiredlevel,removethekeysfromtheignition.Thiswilllockthe chimevolumeatitscurrentlevel.

OnStar level adjustment:

• PresstheOnStarbuttontoactivateit.

• WhileOnStarisspeaking,presstheVOLUME-UPorVOLUME-DOWNbuttononthesteering wheeltoraiseorlowertheOnStarlevel.

• Ifthevehicledoesn’tcomeequippedwithsteeringwheelcontrols,locatetheBlack/Yellow wireonthe3018harness.

• WhileOnStarisspeaking,taptheBlack/Yellowwiretoground.OncetheOnStarlevelisset, itwillstayatthatleveluntiltheBlack/Yellowwireistappedtogroundagain.

1a. For vehicles without factory navigation:Insertthe(2)copperthreadedinsertsprovidedwiththekitintotheemptyupperradiomountingholesinthedashcavity,thensecuretheradioassemblytothedashusingthefactoryscrews.

1b. For vehicles with factory navigation:a)Securetheradioassemblytothedashusingthefactoryscrews.b)Attachthemetalpanelclipsprovidedwiththekittotheupperdashtrimpanel.Afactory versionofthispanelisalsoavailablefromtheDealership.(FigureA)

2. Reassemblethedashinreverseorderofdisassemblyusingthe99-3018Sradiotrimpaneltocompletetheinstallation.

Resetting the Axxess interface

1. TheBlueresetbuttonislocatedinsidetheAxxessinterface,betweenthetwoconnectors.ThebuttonisaccessibleoutsidetheAxxessinterface,noneedtoopentheAxxessinterface.

2. Pressandholdtheresetbuttonfortwoseconds,thenletgotoresettheAxxessinterface.

3. Referto“ProgrammingtheAxxessInterface”fromthispoint.
