History• Cafod was born when volunteers of

the national board of catholic women joined and yet organised the first family fast day on Friday 11th of march 1960.cafodbhas now five hundred partners overseas and over forty countries worldwide.

Thirst for change

In 2012 Cafod is launching a new campaign called thirst for change. It is for people in poorer countries with no clean water and a small amount of food Cafod are doing there best to build clean rainwater tanks and hygienic toilets so people do not catch diseases and sadly die.

What is Cafod ?

• Cafod stands for Catholic Agency For Overseas Development. Cafod begun its marvellous work just over fifty years ago. Cafod helps support people with shelter and clean clothes. Cafod collects money in England and Wales to send ton poorer countries such as central and south America, Asia and Africa. Cafod normally collects money for fair-trade to send to poorer countries.

• Sadly in places such as Asia, Africa and America one point seven million people die every year due to poor dirty water and also a form of violence. Cafod helps all the countries that have been caught up in earthquakes and immense disasters. Also from lack of water so that is why Cafod is building rainwater tanks and water taps.

How we can help?
