Agile Mining Services is a 100% Australian owned and operated mining

services company established in June 2020. Since the company was

established, it has successfully ramped up the mining operations at

Peculiar Knob mine site.

The Cairn Hill mine and associated leases are owned by Cu River.

Duty of Care

• Agile Mining Services (AMS) is committed to providing a safe working

environment in which employees, contractors and visitors are not

exposed to unacceptable levels of risk.

• All personal on site have a duty to take reasonable care to protect

their own health and safety as well as others and comply as far as

reasonably practicable to any health & safety instruction.

• All personnel must only operate equipment they have been deemed

competent for and conduct a pre-start inspection before use.

• All Incidents, Hazards or Injuries must be reported immediately to the

Supervisor.

• All personnel are to sign in and out daily.(BAC) breathalyzer testing is

conducted daily and is mandatory for all personnel including visitors.

• Random drug testing will be conducted onsite. AMS is to be notified of

any medication you are prescribed and taking prior to entering site.9

Duty of Care – Accommodation

• If personnel on rotation are unable to make the shift, notification must

be given to Shift Supervisor prior to the commencement of work.

• A check list will be made available to the bus driver of each shift to

ensure all personnel are accounted for prior to leaving the camp. If

personnel are not accounted for:

• Shift Supervisor will call the worker and find out their intentions for

the shift

• If there is no contact the Shift Supervisor will go to the room to

confirm the safe status of the worker

• If there is a concern the Shift Supervisor will call the camp

emergency services

• Once clarification is made the bus can leave

Emergency ProcedureIn the case of an emergency, announce over UHF Radio Channel 27.

The following prompts shall be adhered to:

EMERGENCY, EMERGENCY, EMERGENCY

When the Emergency Controller answers, state the following:

• Your name

• Nature of emergency

• Location of emergency

• Number and Nature of Injuries

• Assistance Required

Only move patient if they are in danger.

All other personnel not involved in the emergency must maintain radio silence

and cease work during emergency situations and must only speak when advised

to do so. All personnel will await further instruction from the Manager/ Supervisor

before returning to normal operations.

First Aid▪ There are qualified first aid personnel on site who are identified by a

green first aid sticker on their helmet and their names listed in the crib

room and admin building.

▪ First aid kits and fire extinguishers are located in all vehicles and

strategically placed around the site including:

▪ Crib rooms

▪ Admin building

▪ Maintenance office

▪ We have access to the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) including

a comprehensive medical chest that can only be used under the

direction/authorisation of a qualified RFDS doctor.

▪ A fully equipped first aid room is located adjacent to the crib room as

shown on the next slide

If notified that an evacuation from site is required by the Dept

of Defence, or there is a requirement to withdraw from site.

All personnel must assemble at the Emergency Assembly

Point adjacent to the Haul Road/Hwy access road intersection

located approximately 500 metres from the highway.

Personal Protective Equipment

▪ P2 Dust Mask – To be worn in dusty conditions. To be worn at all

times while working around the Dry Magnetic Separator (DMS)

▪ Gloves – Must be carried with you at all times and to be worn for all

manual handling tasks

If replacement PPE is required, please see your supervisor immediately

Entanglement and de-gloving hazard

The hazard of entanglement or degloving can lead to serious injury or

death:

• Rings, of any sort, are prohibited from being worn

• No loose clothing, jewellery or hair

Before entering site:

• Remove jewellery

• Secure clothing

• Tie back and secure hair.

Personal Isolation Lockout

• Personal isolation is removing all energy sources before tasks such as

Pre-Start checks or maintenance.

• All personal locks and danger tags must be used to identified the

owner.

• Only the lock and tag owner can remove their own locks and tags.

• Keys for locks are never to be given to work mate or supervisor to

remove.

• Locking out energy sources save your life.

• In the event that the lock owner has left site and is unable to return,

the person lock removal procedure is used with the Mine Manager or

delegates authority to remove the locks and safely return the

equipment to service.

Hazard, Incident and Near Miss ReportingIf a hazard is deemed by any person to be an immediate danger to any

person, plant or equipment, work near or associated with the hazard, all

activities MUST STOP until the issue is resolved.

• All site personnel and visitors are required to report all hazards, unsafe

acts, incidents, accidents and near misses to their Supervisor

Permit System

Permits are required for particular types of work that are deemed to

be High Risk Activities to people, the machinery and/or the

environment.

These activities are –

• Confined Space Entry

• Working at Heights

• Excavation/Penetration

• Soil and Vegetation Disturbance

• Hot Works

Along with this form, a JSA must be completed and all associated

documentation must be presented to the Permit Issuer (Mine

Operations Manager or Delegate) for their authorisation.

No Entry Areas

Within the Cairn Hill Mine Lease, certain areas are out of bounds, or

require clearance to enter.

These include-

• Rehabilitation Areas

• Areas outside of the conditions of your approved Woomera permit

• Water Bores and their access tracks

If you are unsure of your clearance level, please consult your Supervisor

A handheld UHF radio is required when walking outside the

workshop/ administration areas

Woomera Restricted AreaThe Cairn Hill Mining Lease is within the Woomera Restricted Area.

You must have a current Dept of Defence W003/W004 site access permit to enter

Rules:

• Must not at any time be at a place that is outside of the Permit Area

• Must not intentionally remove, touch, interfere or tamper with, any Commonwealth equipment,

material or installation

• Must not have in his or her possession or operate, an unmanned aerial vehicle, or a firearm or any

explosives not required for the Mining Services

• Personnel must comply with all reasonable directions in relation to the Woomera Prohibited Area

given to the person by a member of the Defence Force or an APS employee in the Department of

Defence

• Personal must inform the Mine Operations Manager as soon as possible if any war material is

found

• No photos to be taken within the Mining Lease without written permission from the Mine Operations

Manager or Delegates written approval. 29

Heritage The Cairn Hill Mine site is within Aboriginal Traditional Land where AMS, as the

mining operator, respects the cultural heritage of the area.

An undertaking has been given to:

• Acknowledge all obligations under the SA Aboriginal Heritage Act 1988;

• Familiarise all personnel with Aboriginal Tradition;

• Promote a knowledge, understanding and respect for Aboriginal Tradition;

• Encourage good relationships between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal

persons;

• Create an awareness in relation to Aboriginal issues within the area;

• Provide instructions on how to identify an Aboriginal Site, object or remains

and what action to take upon discovery with a view to avoiding any damage

or disturbance to the site, object or remains;

• Protect Aboriginal Sites and shall not enter or interfere with any place if to

do so would constitute a breach of the Aboriginal Heritage Act 1988 (SA).

Visitors must not enter or damage, disturb or interfere with:

• An area constituted by an exclusion zone of 100 metres

around Cairn Hill;

• An area constituted by an exclusion zone of 50 metres

around the numerous granite outcrops throughout the

Site.

Environment

Environmental issues are an important aspect of any mine site.

It is necessary that everyone takes responsibility for limiting the mine’s impact on

the environment. Never disturb any areas with native vegetation or Fauna.

Approval and a permit is required from the mine owner before any topsoil or

vegetation is disturbed.

We need to ensure that we:

▪ Prevent and control all spills

▪ Clean-up and separate our waste and recycle where possible

▪ Control dust

▪ Clean up all waste. Place a waste into the correct bins as labelled

▪ Look out for wildlife on haul roads and the Stuart Highway

Any Wildlife interactions must be reported to your Supervisor
