Jesus Christ stands at the center of our faith as he reveals God’s love for us in the pages of scripture. The Bible is the

account of God's word and action in history, together with the people's response in faith. It is the story of the one God,

who is the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. That story is still unfolding and in faith we make it our own story. It forms

our memory and our hope. This story itself tells us that God works through sovereign will and justice among all peoples of

the earth. We must not set our ultimate reliance on any other help. We must not yield unconditional obedience to any

other power. We must not love anyone or anything more than we love God. We praise and enjoy God. For to worship

God is highest joy, and to serve God is perfect freedom.

WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT REFUGEES AND IMMIGRANTS? Please join us in Geneva Hall on Sunday, October 28, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. as we learn more about the lives of immigrants and refugees. Paul Sloderbeck, staff attorney for the US Committee for Refugees and Immigrants, will be our guest speaker and he will share his experiences. Paul’s passion for his work is an inspiration and you may find yourself looking for ways to support Paul’s ministry. Bring your questions and be prepared to stretch and grow as we consider how we might welcome the stranger in the name of Christ.

In Anam Cara, Gaelic for “soul friend” the ancient teachings, stories and blessings of Celtic wisdom provide profound insights on the universal themes of friendship, solitude, love and death. The sessions are duplicate for Wednesday morning at 10-11:30 a.m. or Wednesday evening at 6-7:30 p.m. on October 17 and November 14 in room C200. Registration is ongoing. WALK TO END HUNGER ONE STEP AT A TIME. The Greater Triangle Crop Walk will take place on Sunday, October 28 at North Carolina State University’s Court of NC, near the Bell Tower.
