Fifth Grade: Learning about Early French Settlements

Our Fifth Grade Social Studies Classes have been studyingabout the early French Settlements. In order to learn moreabout the culture, history and traditions of these settlements, the students made a brochure about New Orleans. Theyenjoyed having a “tasting” day to experience some ofLouisiana’s foods.

The Fourth Grade Science Classes were asked to create a diarama ecosystem of their choice (deserts, rain forests, tropical, etc.) and to share them with the class. All sorts of exciting displays (including two live specimens!) were

shared. Students in the other grades came by to view the displays.

The SrK has been studying about "healthy hearts". Heidi Ringer visited the class to teach the studentsabout exercising their hearts. Heidi is a fitnessinstructor and is Madison's mom.

The boys and girls in this SrK rotation group were soexcited about building their tower of sight words!
