Miss Bokma’s farewell - Wednesday, June 13 at 2 pm

Maybe she's coached your child on the Battle of the Books, or given them a special treat on their birthday, or welcomed them to school each day with a friendly "Good morning". She was integral in building this beautiful school and has been a leader in the community for 27 years. Be sure to join us on Wednesday at 2:00 pm as we express our gratitude for the multitude of ways that Miss Bokma has contributed to our amazing school. We hope to see you there.

Trip Matters

This Wednesday, June 13th will be our last day of placing orders with our supplier. If you need any more gift cards for the summer, gifts, or dare I say it, Back to School in August, please send in your order by then. We will still take delivery of that order next week and the office will sell whatever is still in stock. Our first day back will be September 5th. The T.R.I.P. program is in need of 2 more volunteers next year. One position is for every 2 weeks from about 9:00 to 11:00 am and the other position is for every 3 weeks. Please let the office know if you would be willing to help us out [email protected] . It is a great time to help the school and interact with other faithful school supporters. A good time is always had by all. Have a wonderful summer.

to qualify for incentive and class prizes. Full addresses are necessary for tax receipts. Also, if you raised $100 or more, please indicate whether your child would like an iTunes gift card or movie pass. And for $250 or more, which gift card they would like. That would be very helpful. Thanks for all your support in making this all school event a positive one! HarvestFest 2018 Saturday, September 29, 2018, is HARVESTFEST! This is the first big event of the school year so be sure to add it to your calendars and start thinking about how you can help. We need lots of volunteers and items for the live and silent auctions. Help Needed Now We are in need of someone to lead the marketing and advertising side of this event. The HarvestFest committee truly works

as a team so there would be full support and guidance as well as access to forms and documents already created. If you would like to join the team or have any questions, please contact: Greg Brazas - [email protected] or Julia Biersteker - [email protected]

Classroom News JKA – It was incredible morning of running and walking on Friday as the kinder kids impressed all of us with their stamina and perseverance around the kilometer long track. Thank you for your hard work and dedication to do your best! The red shirts stood out well in the playground and on Friday you'll have the opportunity to wear them again as we celebrate Canada Day! We are working on two songs and John 3:16 for our special presentation next Wednesday (June 20) at 2:00 pm. (Check out Seesaw for the links to those two songs.) We hope that you are able to join us. ~ Mrs. Robinson JKB/SK – Wow, only two weeks left! Where has the time gone? There has been so much growing and learning that took place this year. I am not done teaching yet! So let's keep going having fun and leaning as we take advantage of these last two weeks. Please keep reviewing the Memory Work of John 3:16 and the songs "God is for Us" and "One Way" for Kindergarten Graduation. Please come celebrate with us on June 20 at 2:00 p.m. I also wanted to say "Way to Go" to all the Kindergarten students who blew us way with the perseverance they showed walking/running in the King's Fun Run. You showed us that "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13. Looking forward to a great week! ~ Mrs. Veldhoen Grade 1 – This week our word work will focus on making contractions. Friday’s contraction test will be our last grade one Spelling test. We’ll continue to work on our measurement skills during our Math activities that involve determining the mass of many objects as well as the capacity of lots of containers. Our Bible stories will continue from the book of Joshua, and our Memory Verse will be Joshua 1:9. We’re having fun learning about other insects as we wonder about these creatures in God’s creation. ~ Mrs. McKinley Grade 2/3 – The “Wright” Newsletter for grade 2 and 3 is coming home today with all of the information you need for the coming week. Spelling words and the Memory Verse will be checked on Friday. We will wrap up mass and capacity in Math with a test on Thursday. We will continue reading fables and tales. Have a great week! ~ Mrs. Wright Grade 4/5A – I hope everyone got lots of rest this weekend. It was wonderful to see everyone in our class participating in the King’s Fun Run. This week will be our last Spelling test and Memory Verse on Friday. On Wednesday we will also have our final reading buddies. ~ Mr. Hoult Grade 5B/6 – Welcome to the second last week of school for 2017-2018. A big shout out to my students who participated in the Fun Run on Friday. All those who were there completed 5k! We will be wrapping up our Math unit with a test on Tuesday and our Social Studies' unit with a test on Wednesday. Spelling words and assignments will be handed out today. Friday is the test and due date. ~ Mrs. Schenk Grade 7 – Good morning! Last week we had fun making tie dye items in the colour blue for our spirit day and King's Run on Friday. It was great to see such school spirit from our class! Remember to bring in your sponsor sheets and money for the run by this Friday. This week we have a health quiz on Monday and Bible memory verses are Proverbs 3:1-9 due next week Monday. Let’s have a great week! ~ Mrs. Rumble
