It should be a fun morning – I ‘ve been told that if you like singing or performing or have some good jokes or funny stories to tell you just might get to be a star on radio. I know we have some wonderful singers and a number of talented guitar players out there who might like to practise over the weekend. I’m told we have a lot of funny kids too – woops, I meant kids who have a good sense of humour and who can tell a great joke. You should be practicing your “Knock Knock” jokes – just make sure everything you rehearse will be able to go to air please? Linda is cooking up a storm in the canteen for breakfast and would appreciate some parent volunteers to feed the hungry hordes! Parents and students are welcome to arrive at school from 7am when breakfast will be served – everything delicious and reasonably priced. This year we have organised a coffee van so all the adults can get their morning coffee treat and hot chocolate for the kids. Please make sure our event is well-attended as there will be a presentation to the P & C on the morning and it would be great to have some incredibly loud cheering to go with that. Hope to see you bright and early (and hungry) next Tuesday morning for breakfast with Craig and Mandy. Annual School Report (ASR) You can find the ASR published on our school website. It documents evaluations of a number of important aspects of your school including school communications, school learning support processes and the implementation of aspects of literacy best practice. As usual, it also contains information about the school’s organisation, staffing, financial position, areas for improvement and achievements. I hope you can find the time to look over it. Please email the school with any questions or feedback about our ASR. ANZAC Day invitation As ANZAC Day falls during the school holidays this year, and students may be away on holidays, I want to give initial advice about the MacMasters Beach Surf Life Saving Club’s 2013 ANZAC ceremony. All students and their families are invited to attend the Mac’s SLSC ceremony and it would be wonderful to see you resplendent in your school uniform. The ceremony commences at 5.00pm on the lawn area outside the clubhouse. A special invitation has been extended to our school leaders to attend and to lay a wreath. Please let Mrs Wardlaw know if you can attend. End of term It’s hard to believe we are almost at the end of the term, isn’t it? We have packed lots into term 1 this year. Your teachers have been very busy preparing for Easter assembly, Fun Run, conferences, 5 Lands Walk and we are soon thinking about the school performance in term 3. Even while teachers are organising all these activities, their minds are still very firmly on improving our literacy results and the introduction of new syllabuses. School staff are using the first two days of term 2 (29 & 30 April) to engage in professional learning about the new Australian Curriculum, specifically the English syllabus. This is a terrific extended opportunity for teachers to get stuck into the challenge of implementing new curriculum. Mums and dads – make sure you don’t pack your children’s school bags until Wednesday 1 May 1 after the holidays and make a note on your calendar please. Have a great week at our great school! End of term

Star FM Broadcast

Craig and Mandy are coming to school on 9 April to do an outside broadcast under the COLA. It should be a fun

morning – I ‘ve been told that if you like singing or performing or have some good jokes or funny stories to tell

you just might get to be a star on radio.

I know we have some wonderful singers and a number of talented guitar players out there who might like to practise

over the weekend. I’m told we have a lot of funny kids too – woops, I meant kids who have a good sense of humour and

who can tell a great joke. You should be practicing your “Knock Knock” jokes – just make sure everything you

rehearse will be able to go to air please?

Linda is cooking up a storm in the canteen for breakfast and

would appreciate some parent volunteers to feed the hungry hordes! Parents and students are welcome to arrive at school

from 7am when breakfast will be served – everything delicious and reasonably priced. This year we have organised

a coffee van so all the adults can get their morning coffee treat and hot chocolate for the kids.

Please make sure our event is well-attended as there will be

a presentation to the P & C on the morning and it would be great to have some incredibly loud cheering to go with that.

Hope to see you bright and early (and hungry) next Tuesday

morning for breakfast with Craig and Mandy.

areas for improvement and achievements. I hope you can find the time to look over it. Please email the school with any

It’s hard to believe we are almost at the end of the term, isn’t it? We have packed lots into term 1 this year. Your

Easter Hat Parade

Last Thursday all of Kindergarten had an Easter Hat Parade in the hall. We invited our families and our Year 6 Buddies who

helped us make our hats.

We sang our favourite Easter songs and did some actions too. We were very nervous because there were lots of people there

watching us.

Then we got to do what we had all been waiting for– Parade our beautiful, colourful Easter hats. We walked around the hall

to a great song showing off our magnificent creations.

We had so much fun!

Thank you to our buddies who helped us and to Mrs Fell who

taught us the songs, and how to parade our lovely hats.

The aim of the forum is to supply parents with practical information on “Cyber Bullying” and the steps to take to

protect your children.

This is a great opportunity for parents to gain valuable information on the effects of “Cyber Bullying”, resources

that are available to young people experiencing bullying

and where to seek help.

Booking can be made via our Youth Liaison Office on 43235514 or via email on:
