Principal’s Corner Upcoming November Principal’s Chat

Dear Fisher Parents:

Our Fisher Home and School Club will be hosting a Principal’s Chat this Thursday, November 5th at 8:30 a.m. in the Fisher library.

This month, I plan to share information regarding the new California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (Smarter Balance Assessment) our students took last spring, including the steps our staff has taken to analyze the results, and our methods for monitoring instructional strategies and student progress moving forward.

In addition to the topic of the month, I routinely include updates on other school initiatives, parent questions and/or concerns, and significant upcoming events.

These regularly scheduled chats have been very well attended, and the feedback we have received from our participants indicates the information has been a helpful supplement to the information provided in our weekly flyers. I hope you will plan to join us!

Schedule Of Events 11/2 – 11/6 - SPIRIT WEEK is this week!! Fisher Olympics activities are scheduled Tuesday – Friday this week. Wednesday, the 6th graders will compete in three-way capture the flag. Thursday, the 7th graders will compete in the pizza box relay. And on Friday, the 8th graders will test to see who can eat a suspended donut the quickest!

Friday, 11/6 is Color Day!! Students should get decked out in their spirit color. Fisher Depot has plenty of stock in all colors and sizes of sprit wear.

Our 1st Friday Sidewalk Sale will take place during morning drop-off to make sure your child is decked out in their core color! We will also have Gift Certificates there for you to purchase for your students. These are great gifts for achievements, holidays or just because! Also feel free to just slow down and give your completed order form to us (with payment of course!).

Fisher Depot We are extending the Sport Bottle promotion so now is the time to spend $15.00+ on a branded shirt of any style and get a FREE sport bottle in your sprit color. The order form can be printed and filled out at home and sent to school with your payment and we’ll fill the order when your student drops in to the Fisher Depot during lunch on Tuesdays through Fridays.

She founded the Pacific Wellness Center in 2006, and has been in private practice since then. Lisa also conducts teacher trainings on how to work with teens and children who are struggling with their emotions.

The Parenting Continuum is a community alliance empowering parents to nurture the whole child and the whole family by focusing on K12 parent education. The Goldin Foundation of Excellence in Education

News Release - October 2015

Our school district participates in an annual regional award program which recognizes and rewards educators in the region who have made outstanding contributions in their classrooms, schools and communities. The Goldin Foundation for Excellence in Education addresses the challenge of maintaining and fostering excellence in elementary and secondary schools, seeks to foster respect for and appreciation of educators by publicizing their achievements, and provides an annual Educators Forum at which award recipients share their efforts. 

Eligibility for the six annual awards of $500 each includes any person working directly with students, teachers, and other support staff within the school setting or in the community. Participants may include, but are not limited to:

• certified classroom teachers (experienced or new to the profession) • administrators • guidance counselors • school specialists • school nurses • part-time teachers and substitute teachers • teachers' aides • parents and representatives of the community 

Areas of participation may include, but are not limited to the following:

• enriching innovative programs in the classroom, school or community • engaging in professional growth • establishing programs for other educators • designing programs that focus on special populations • developing initiatives for collaboration between the schools and parents or members of the community 

The Goldin Foundation for Excellence in Education is a non-profit organization. It serves the following public school systems:

Cambrian School District, Campbell Union School District, Campbell Union High School District, Cupertino Union School District, Fremont Union High School District, Lakeside School District, Loma Prieta Joint Union School District, Los Altos School District, Los Gatos-Saratoga Joint Union High School District, Los Gatos Union School District, Luther Burbank School District, Moreland School District, Mountain View-Los Altos Union High School District, Mountain View Whisman School District, Saratoga Union School District, Sunnyvale School District, Union School District
