It{~l~Tuesday was a beautiful "Opening Day" to start off the new school year! Theteachers and staff, attired in their best baseball gear, welcomed our students with pennants andcheers. A "Welcome to 8t. Francis de Sales!" sign, (created by our students -Nikki, Olivia,Stepahnie, Rosemary, Joanne, Suzie & Georgia!), was prominently on display on the fence onCurtis Street. Thanks girls! Mrs. Ahnert led off the day with a rousing rendition of "Take Me Out toSf. Francis!" (sung to the tune of Take Me Out to the Ballgame). Students coming into the buildingfor the start of the 2011 - 2012 school year were greeted with banners in the hallways highlightingour school motto of IIStrive, Believe, Achieve"! The morning concluded in the gymnasium, with aprayer for the students and staff, followed by introduction of our school staff and the new studentsto our school. The children and faculty proceeded outside for a flag raising ceremony, and singingof the National Anthem and God Bless America, led by our very own Mrs. Teresa Kiefer! Themorning finished with the Pledge of Allegiance. It was a great start to what promises to be anothergreat year here at St. Francis de Sales Parish School!
