CSU GE Advisory Committee Approved AP scores and credit for GE certification - CCC representatives on GEAC - Updated list meets EO 595, EO 395 requirements

CSU approved specific AP exams approved for GE-B and IGETC certification CSU and UC implementation is waiting for: - Based on ICAS input, UC must finalize its approval

- Final approved CSU list will be distributed with revised CSU EO 365

IB is not yet approved for CSU GE-B or IGETC certification. Must be reviewed by CSU faculty ( and UC faculty for IGETC).

Using Upper-Division Credits to meet Lower-Division Requirements

Some CSU campuses have honored CCC certifications that useupper-division coursework (though not in policy)

Using upper-division GE courses to satisfy lower-division requirements may cause student to have to take additional course to satisfy upper-division requirement after transfer

EO 595: Lower-division coursework is to be used to meet Lower-division GE requirements (EO 595, Section VIII, C1)

Page 9: California Community College Articulation Officers Training April 25 & 26, 2007

Using Upper-Division Credits to meet Lower-Division Requirements

CSU recommends consulting with CSU receiving campus to discuss how upper-division course will count

Ultimately, the CSU campus may change the certification, applying coursework to a different area
