Dear Senior Legislators:
I am extending a warm welcome to our 29th Annual Legislative Session of the California Senior Legislature (CSL). I look forward to working with each one of you during this Session, as we work to improve the quality of life for aging Californians.
I strongly believe that we will have a very productive Session to begin our 2009-2010 year on a high note.
Thanks to the CSL membership for making this a rewarding year. Through the hard work of many CSL members, friends, and volunteers, we met our yearly financial goal early. Thanks to the California Legislators and the Governor, a number of our proposals have been chaptered. These outstanding achievements were made possible by your dedication and hard work in addressing senior issues.
This year has seen a continuation and expansion of close relationships with other senior organizations and retired CSL members. By working together, we will be more effective in helping those less fortunate than ourselves.
It has been a real pleasure to serve as your Joint Rules Committee chair this year. STAY ACTIVE AND STAY INVOLVED!
Senior Senator Lola Young, ChairJoint Rules Committee

While we have listed some of those who make these contributions, there are many, many others who help not only during the CSL Legislative Session, but also throughout the year. Our deepest gratitude goes to all of these individuals.

29th Annual Legislative Session
My Dear Friends,
Welcome to Sacramento!
Through the years we have established a good relationship based onrespect, trust, and hard work, and we have enhanced and improvedthe lives of California seniors throughout the state.
Together we are fighting to eliminate the forced administration of harmfulpsychoactive drugs to nursing home residents, and we will continue to try andestablish the Silver Alert system, which would help in the safe recovery of our loved ones who wander from home.
With love, appreciation, and best wishes,

We believe 60is the new 30.
Sure, Kaiser Permanente has been around for nearly 60 years.
But that doesn’t mean we show our age. We’re always coming
up with new ways to help you feel better. Like preventive health
programs, expanded medical offices, advanced information
systems, and more. It’s all part of the innovative approach
we’ve brought to health care since 1943. And from the look of
things, we’re just getting better.
