Calisthenics: The gym isn’t the only place to get fit. Mixed Martial Arts, Power Lifting, Yoga, Zumba… These are a few of the most trending fitness regimes that are spreading in the country today. Now, a once unnoticed form of exercise has re-emerged – and it costs way, way less. It’s true. Some of us may have jobs or activities that take most of our days. Too weary after getting out of bed or too worn out after work to go to fitness classes and gyms. Say no more. Take 15 minutes—yes. Just that short to make a difference for you. It can go as long as an hour and a half if you prefer. Calisthenics is taking the community by storm and it proves itself to be just as effective as any weight-related exercise that changes not only your physique but your own strength as you progress. Numerous patrons of this expanding sport have already crash landed in the world wide web and are starting to get powerful ovation from their catered crowds. A few to name which I have followed through upon research are YouTube fitness icons Daniel Vadnal from “Fitness FAQs”, Frank Medrano and his self-titled channel, Fortress, and a few more uprising internet personalities. Since it is defined as bodyweight training, it takes reasonable time with the proper diet and the results are unquestionable. I personally have started undergoing the said training and I cannot at all argue with the output. As commonly done, jogging and yoga alongside it’s extremist counterpart Parkour or Free Running, Calisthenics has taken the streets as it’s home base for progress. Playgrounds, Parks and simple beach side views are already swarming with members of many Calisthenics followers and they keep on growing. Using monkey bars, poles, ladders and a lot more, the resourceful use of basic equipment and household items provide unusual yet efficient routines. The workout intensity vary within the individual strength of a person and they can go as simple as doing basic pushups to one-arm and one-leg pushups, to that of standard pull ups and eventually as they progress, the use of gymnastics rings and even the immortalized Human Flag. Calisthenics is also considerably a great foundation for more physical activities and sports. And to top it all off, there is hardly any cost to go along with the exercises. Proper diet speeds up the losing or gaining process as well. So there is definitely no time to waste—Calisthenics as some have labeled, the roaring, uprising non-contact sport that people of all ages will enjoy. And rest assured that even without pumping iron, you are one step closer to a better and fitter you. by Dannel Lozano fitness Model and Photo by: Nick Kvistad of onebreathpursuit.com
