Call for Incubation Start-up Proposals to the UCU Business Incubation Hub

Faculty of Business and Administration, Uganda Christian University in partnership with Hanze University of Applied Sciences (UCU-Business Incubation Hub) is delighted to announce a new program to entrepreneurs at UCU. Applicants from innovative and solution-based business or start-ups are encouraged to apply & enroll for incubation support services. The objective is;

A) To help early-stage start-ups to build their ideas or prototypes into successful ventures through;

i. Business Development & Marketing Strategy ii. Mentorship Programs and Fund-raising Advisory Services iii. Intellectual Property Support

B) Our Business Incubation Hub will nurture and provide support to the start-ups in their initial and critical stages through customized and focused incubation support and expert mentoring.

C) To offer the students’ ecosystem young companies the opportunity to forge new relationships with successful entrepreneurs.

What to expect at the Incubation:

i. Providing young companies with exposure to the Market and Start-Up resources

ii. Professional and experiential mentorship from institutional mentors and entrepreneurs.

iii. Business support services in Business Planning & Modeling, Legal, Financial (Book-keeping & Accounting), Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), Business or Company Compliances, Personnel Mgt, Marketing among others.

iv. “Startup-Corporate” connections for Business Synergies (Networking and Market Access)

v. Access to investors including Seed Funds and Venture Capital

vi. Meeting or office and workshop space for entrepreneurs and clients

vii. A seed capital fund will be provided to successful potential start-ups.

Eligibility Criteria:

We focus on young teams that want to mature their ideas and transform them into a successful startup. Individuals (a.k.a. solopreneurs) that have great ideas are also invited to submit their ideas. Entrepreneurs with a focus towards building innovative solutions in society, with eco-friendly, solution-based business proposals/ start-ups are invited to apply and enroll for the incubation support program and services if they have;

• An Idea/ Early Stage Start-up and have attended one of the following; Intra-Skills Development Classes, ILO Entrepreneurship Training Program, Start-Hub Africa Entrepreneurship Academy and VIJANA POA Entrepreneurship Training.

• Searching for Market Access, Investment Advisory, Seeking for Mentorship & Business Support Services.

• One must be a student or graduate of Uganda Christian University irrespective of the course/ Program undertaken and Campus.

How to Apply:

Soft Copy Applications and Business Proposals can be submitted to the Faculty of Business & Administration official website, or through the email; entrepreneurshipfair@ucu.ac.ug or, Submit hard copies to the Reception desk of the Faculty of Business & Administration, Main Campus, Mukono.

Submission Deadline/ Date: Wednesday, 15th January, 2020 at 05:00 pm.
