Symbiosis Institute of Health Sciences takes immense pleasure in announcing XIV National

Seminar on Healthcare/Hospital Management, Medico Legal Systems and Clinical Research on 4th

and 5

thMay 2012.

Abstracts of papers (oral or poster presentation) on Hospital & Healthcare Management ,Medico

Legal Systems and Clinical Research are invited so as to reach the office of the Symbiosis Instituteof Health Sciences (SIHS) on or before 15th March. The official conference language for all papers

and presentations is English.

Submission guidelines for AbstractsFormat for the abstract

Title of the Abstract

Body of the Abstract

All abstracts must be submitted in electronic format (Microsoft Wordformat using Times New

Roman font size 12. The length of the abstract must not be more than 200 words and double-spaced.

Paper Size:

The paper should be formatted for 8 1/2" by 11" A4 paper format.

Page Lay out

All papers must follow the following layout:

8 1/2" X 11" paper (A4)

Top and bottom margins: 1.00"

Left and right margins: 1.00"

Text Sections and Headings

Text should be organized into sections and subsections. A single line should separate

paragraphs; no indentation should be used. Font guidelines are as follows.

Section Headings: Numbered, 12 point, bold.

Section Sub-headings: Numbered, 12 point, bold,

Regular text: 12 pt. Times New Roman, full justified

It should contain a brief background of the research topic, sample, methodology, results,

analysis, and conclusions. It may also include possible implications of the research and future

work in the area of research.

To list key words, type Keywords: (italicized) and then list the keywords. Keywords should notexceed more than 8 words.

The submitted abstracts for oral/poster presentations will be reviewed by the Academic

Committee of the National Seminar.

Abstract Requirements:

Abstracts will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

The purpose is clearly stated Research presentations are based on original research Where a research question is answered, scientific methods are used For research based presentations, methods are clearly described, valid and reliable Statistical procedures and results are clearly presented, as appropriate For research presentations, conclusions are based on valid interpretations and are clearlystated and justifiable Abstract includes a clear description of the program, technique or issue being presented.

Only one paper per author will be accepted for presentation in the sessions, and at least one author

for the selected paper must be present during the National Seminar in order to present the paper.

Poster Presentation

The poster must be printed in A0, portrait layout (90 cm wide x 120 cm high) and should beeasily read from a 1m distance.

All costs relating to the production of the poster are the responsibility of the author(s). There will be a dedicated poster session during the National Seminar. It is a requirement that

at least one author be present at this session to answer questions from delegates. Details onthe date and time of this session will be advised closer to the time.

Guidelines for Submission Manuscript

The title of the paper, the author's name and surname and the name and address of theinstitute where the work was carried out should be indicated at the right hand top of the

manuscript ( as mentioned above). An email address and Fax number for thecorresponding author should be supplied with the manuscript.

Manuscripts should not exceed 5000 words (including cover page, abstract, text,references, tables, and figures), with margins of 1 inch on all sides and a standard font

(e.g., Times New Roman) of 12 points (no smaller) for regular text. The entire paper

including, text, references, tables, etc. must be double spaced.

Each listed reference should be cited in text, and each text citation should be listed inthe References section as it is cited in the text.

It should contain ethical issues, acknowledgement, funding sources and conflict ofinterest. ( if any)

Note : Certificate of presentation will be given to only those who personally present their

papers at the conference.

Publication of Papers

All papers presented in the conference will be published in the Symbiosis Health Times

(having an ISBN No.)

Registration Fees for Paper Presenters:

Bursaries will be awarded to selected good papers that will include:

1) Refund of Registration Feesand

2) Accommodation on twin sharing basis at venue for the length of the conferenceCo-authors desirous of certification or participation are required to pay the full registration

Fees.

Payment Mode:

Registration Fee should be paid by Demand Draft drawn in favor of Symbiosis Centre of HealthCare payable at Pune. The DD should be sent along with the Registration Form ( can be downloaded

from our website) as per the dates mentioned.

Please note that No TA / DA will be paid for participation.
