1.1.1.1. PROJECT BRIEFPROJECT BRIEFPROJECT BRIEFPROJECT BRIEF
The City of Mississauga (the ‘‘City’’) Public Art Program invites professional Canadian artists or
artist teams to submit proposals to create original artwork for Mississauga’s downtown banners.
Using photography as a medium, ‘‘Portrait of M’’ will highlight the cultural and demographic
diversity of Mississauga and will seek to communicate the varied stories of its residents.
Preference will be given to artwork that uses portraiture to view our human condition in a new
light; that is fresh, engaging and innovative. The banners will provide a vibrant visual presence in
the City’s downtown core from May to November 2018.
