Call for Scientific Posters: This call for posters invites the research community as well as interested dairy community stakeholders to submit a scientific poster for the 2020 California Dairy Sustainability Summit. Please submit your poster abstract to kbcomerford@cdrf.org. Poster Abstract Submission Deadline – January 31, 2020 Notification of acceptance / rejection – February 7, 2020 Final submission of poster – March 6, 2020 Summit dates – March 25-26, 2020 Please submit your 250- to 500-word poster abstract no later than 5pm on January 31, 2020. Please use the Poster Abstract Submission Form and include the presenter’s name, co-authors, affiliations, poster title, and a clear description of objectives, methods, results, and conclusions. Abstracts submitted without results will be rejected. Authors of accepted abstracts will be invited to present their poster at the summit. Posters from academic researchers and/or research-based NGOs will be given priority. Submissions from private companies must include independently verified data and/or a peer-reviewed publication to support the poster’s methods, results, and conclusions. Topic Areas Please carefully select your topic area and include it in your email submission. Posters that are specific to CALIFORNIA DAIRY will be given priority.

Poster Guidelines In order to standardize the process, we kindly ask you to read the guidelines carefully.

• All submissions must include a poster title, author names, and author affiliations. • The title may not exceed 25 words. Do not use abbreviations in the title. • Please limit the use of abbreviations in your poster to commonly used abbreviations and

expand all abbreviations at first mention. • Please include all sources of funding for the work presented, and any potential conflicts of

interest. • The target audience for your poster will primarily be dairy producers and allied industry

members (i.e., non-scientists). Please consider providing as much information as possible in infographic form and plain language (i.e. avoid scientific jargon).

• Your poster should clearly state why your research was conducted and it should focus on the potential impacts and benefits of your findings. It should not have a heavy focus on methodology or statistical analysis.

• Please consider streamlining your poster by using bullet points, including images and graphics, and a ‘Key Takeaways’ section.

After submitting your abstract, you will receive a confirmation email. If you do not receive a confirmation within 3 business days please contact kbcomerford@cdrf.org to follow up.

• All submissions will be peer-reviewed.

• Authors will be informed in email by February 7, 2020, on the decision of the scientific poster committee. Further instructions will be given at that time.

• Submission of a poster constitutes a commitment by the author(s) to present said poster if accepted by the committee. The submitting author should also be the presenting author unless other arrangements have been made in advance with kbcomerford@cdrf.org.

• All Poster Presenters must register for the Summit. Poster Presenters will received a discounted rate on registration.
