About Moe’s Original BBQAfter college at Alabama, Eric Witherington started traveling and working in

different restaurants on the East coast. When he moved back to Birmingham, he partnered with his brother Kevin at the Lakeview Oyster House. Then they were

ready for a new challenge. When Kevin was on vacation in Vail, he spent some time with the founding partners of Moe’s Original Bar B Que, Mike Fernandez, Jeff

Kennedy and Ben Gilbert, who were all from Alabama and had a thriving BBQ business in Vail. When Kevin returned home, he told Eric he knew he found

their new plan. Eric was reluctant to do BBQ in Birmingham as there were already so many BBQ restaurants.

However, Moe’s Original Bar B Que had just expanded to the South with an Orange Beach location. When Eric was vacationing there, he had the same experience as his

brother and knew this was a different BBQ experience. The brothers opened their first Moe’s Original Bar B Que location in Vestavia where they both lived with their wives

and three kids each. In addition to Vestavia, there are also Trussville, Hoover and Lakeview locations. With additional restaurants in Alabama, California, Colorado,

Florida, Georgia, Maine, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina and Tennessee, who knows where the next Moe’s Original Bar B Ques will pop up!
