Thanks to Reverend Marquardt for his lovely sermon and Father Lusson for the wonderful burial ceremony.
The overwhelming number of cards, memorials, and à oral arrangements is a testament to the number of lives she touched and the supportive network of family and friends she had.

Red Cross July blood drive exceeds goal in Barron
The Barron area continued its sup-port of the Red Cross Bloodmobile on July 9th by donating 118 units of blood.
The Red Cross had set a goal of 95 units but with the increased inter-est in blood donation by residents of Barron County, the goal was sur-passed. The American Red Cross would like to thank all people who gave their time to saving lives.
Donors reaching milestone giv-ing marks were Betty Robinson for completing her 18th gallon dona-
tion, Mark Amundson for Þ nishing his 13th gallon and Allen Breeden for completing his Þ rst gallon. First time donors included Darwin Gie-sel, Shannon Anderson, Dana Rowe, Dennis Hause, DeWayne Jacobsen, and Rebecca Durham.
The Bloodmobile recognizes Econofoods for donating the meal items, the Mayo Clinic Health Sys-tem Northland Staff for preparing and serving the food, the BACC for providing the facility, Culver’s of Rice Lake for supplying a coupon to
each donor for a pint of frozen yo-gurt, and Swant-Graber Motors for the T-shirts given to Þ rst-time donors and people completing gallon dona-tions.
Jane Klatt and Laura Berger each won a $15 gas card from Holiday Gas Station in Barron in the random drawing.
The Bloodmobile will be back in Barron on Wednesday, Sept. 12. Mark your calendar to give a pint of life-giving blood.

Call out for wheelchair ramp buildersVicky Ondell, director of Volun-
teer Services of Barron County, Inc., reported to the non-proÞ t’s board of directors that she has a waiting list of people needing wheelchair ramps.
Gary Steiglich, who coordinates the ramp building and installation along with Ken Mosentine, stated that they have a good core of volunteers who are giving as much of their time as
they can. But they need more help to keep up with the requests.
If the boards are pre-cut, Gary said that a crew of four or Þ ve using an impact driver can build several ramp sections in 2 or 3 hours at his home. Larry Greener stores the ramp sec-tions at his business until they are needed. Installing a ramp at some-
one’s home generally takes between 2 and 4 hours, depending on the number of available volunteers and the length of the ramp.
How about rounding up a few friends and volunteering to help build ramp sections? You don’t need to be a professional builder or carpenter. Gary and Ken will provide instruction
and supervision. Or consider joining the crew that installs the ramps.
Call Vicky Ondell at Volunteer Services of Barron County, Inc., 715-236-2184 for more information about volunteering for this worthwhile pro-gram which makes a difference in the life of someone needing to use a wheelchair.
The volunteers—Working on a wheelchair ramp (from left) are Shawn Carr, Charlie Kangas, Gary Steglich and Arlyn Colby.
