Dear IFMSA Members, I would like to announce the opening of the call for applications for the HRH Prince Mahidol Award Conference (PMAC) on Transformative Learni ng for Health Equity. The Prince Mahidol Award Conference will be held from January 27th – 31st, 2014 in Bangkok, Thailand. This event is an annual international conference focusing on policy- related health issues of global significance, a forum that Global Health Institutes, both public and private, can co-own and use for advocacy and for seeking international perspectives on important global health issues. The conference is hosted by the Prince Mahidol Award Foundation , the Thai Ministry of Public Health, Mahidol University and co-hosted by the World Health Organization (WHO), the World Bank, U.S. Agency for Internati onal Development (USAID), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the Rockefeller Foundation and China Medical Board with the support from other key related partners. The PMAC is a “by invitation only” event, which is made possibly through IFMSA’s collaborati on with the Prince Mahidol Award Conference. The aim of inviting IFMSA participants to this meeting is to contribute to the theme of Transformative Learning for Health Equity. IFMSA will be hosting a 1 day workshop, as w ell contributing to sessions. Participants ar e expected to have genuine intere st and experience is an added benef it. IMPORTANT: Attached please find the application form for being part of this exclusive event. Please fill out this form and send it back to us [email protected] and [email protected] by July 16 th , 2013. Participati on fee for the conferenc e is FREE, however participan ts will have to cover their own housing and food expenses. Fundraising letters will be provided and we will try to find funding. Selected participan ts to the PMAC will receive guidance through IFMSA’s Global Health Equity Coordinator, Altagracia and IFMSA President, Roopa, before, during and after the event. Furthermore all selected participants will have to demonstrate commitment to fully participat e in the PMAC and sustain involvement in moving forward the activities and collaborati ons between the IFMSA, PMAC and other partners in the months after.
