Dear IFMSA Members,
I would like to announce the opening of the call for applications for the HRH Prince Mahidol
Award Conference (PMAC) on Transformative Learning for Health Equity.
The Prince Mahidol Award Conference will be held from January 27th – 31st, 2014 in
Bangkok, Thailand. This event is an annual international conference focusing on policy-
related health issues of global significance, a forum that Global Health Institutes, both public
and private, can co-own and use for advocacy and for seeking international perspectives on
important global health issues. The conference is hosted by the Prince Mahidol Award
Foundation, the Thai Ministry of Public Health, Mahidol University and co-hosted by the World
Health Organization (WHO), the World Bank, U.S. Agency for International Development(USAID), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the Rockefeller Foundation and
China Medical Board with the support from other key related partners.
The PMAC is a “by invitation only” event, which is made possibly through IFMSA’s
collaboration with the Prince Mahidol Award Conference. The aim of inviting IFMSA
participants to this meeting is to contribute to the theme of Transformative Learning for Health
Equity. IFMSA will be hosting a 1 day workshop, as well contributing to sessions.
Participants are expected to have genuine interest and experience is an added benefit.
