This cabin was the very first building I designed. I completed the project at the end of my first semester as an interior design student.

We were given no real limitations except it needed to be an “unconventional” living space with no more than 600 square feet. I designed mine with a painting studio on the lofted second floor with several windows because I really enjoy painting.

D R E A M S C A P E S P A C EFor this project, we were assigned to design a Dreamscape Space to be used for whatever activity we enjoy most. My favorite activity is painting, so I designed a mobile painting studio.

The natural organic forms in the door and back wall provide an anomaly from the strong geometric structure.

This was my model for this project, built to scale.

The final presentation board for my Dreamscape Space ended up getting in the 26th Annual Juried Undergraduate Art Exhibit at Winthrop.

For this assignment, we designed the company logo, branding identity, and interior of a financial planning office.

It was 25’ x 40’ and had to include an executive office, two junior executive offices, a lobby area, a conference room, and a place for storage and a copy machine.

My goal was to make clients feel relaxed and comfortable when talking about their finances.

N A R R A T I V E C R E A T I O N S R E T A I L S T O R EFor this assignment, we designed the company logo, branding identity, and interior “rollout” design of a high-end graphic T-shirt store. I named it Narrative Creations based on the idea that our clothing can be narrative itself. I chose an urban and mysterious branding identity to draw customers in and create optimal intrigue.

The design represents a symbolic narrative through space, with cosmic influences throughout and very intriguing floor and ceiling features.

Because this project was a “rollout” design, I came up with specific standards and conceptual key plans for various different layouts of my design concept.

For example, there had to be an odd number of inset wall panels, and each merchandise display needed to be a combination of four to five panels out of seven material choices.

After doing everything for this project by hand, I learned how to utilize Sketch Up and Photoshop to create a digital presentation of it.

For this assignment, we designed the company logo, branding identity, and interior of a gentlemen’s spa which was located in an existing building in downtown Charlotte, NC.

I began envisioning a unique and relaxing Mid-Century Modern atmosphere that would create nostalgia while still remaining hip. The spa was not meant to feel like a spa, but more like a socializing environment for men to hang out.

In the project outline, we were required to include a bar, six hair styling stations, two shampoo stations, three manicure/pedicure stations, three single massage/facial rooms, two double massage/facial rooms, a restroom, storage, and a back-of-house section. These are a few of the technical drawings of the space.

This was my final presentation board for this project. It actually consists of layers of multiple boards that are attached in the back. My goal was to create optimal intrigue and emanate the concept of my Mid-Century design.
