CALLEDTOSERVEJANUARY 2017 NEWSLETTER—HARVESTING NATIONS MINISTRIES
OVER 400 CHILDREN GET CHRISTMAS PRESENTS
Harvesng Naons Ministries was started in Feb 2014, and registered as an NPO in 2015. Its
founders are Ps. Johnson (Johnny) and Charmain Peter. Johnson who is originally from Sri Lanka met his
wife to be at Chris4an Life Bible College, in Mount Prospect, IL USA in 2002. They were married in South
Africa in Aug 2004 and worked under Charmain’s parents ministry from 2004 to 2013.
Welcome to the second edi4on of the newsle:er “Called to Serve”.

The Vision: To send labourers into the harvest
The Mission: to go into all the ci4es and villages, teaching
and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing
every sickness and disease among the people
The Purpose: Ephesians 4v12, 13 For the perfec4ng of the saints for the work of the
ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ. Till we all come in the unity of the faith,
and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the
stature of the fullness of Christ

TSAKANE—CRUSADE
26 Oct to 30 Nov 2016 Gospel Message is preached
This outreach was a wonderful experience for us as we volunteered alongside the Pastors in Tsakane for a
5 night crusade. A special thanks to Pastor Sydney Francis who got us involved in this outreach. It is such a
blessing to assist others in the ministries unto which God has called them. Unity in the body of Christ is so
important and when events like this take place, it is an opportunity for Chris4ans to get involved. Every
role is important: from the person assis4ng with the cars to the those behind the scenes praying. New
rela4onships are formed, people are delivered, healed and salva4on is received freely.
Posi4on yourself: God has wonderful rela4onships in store for us. As the body of Christ, we
need each other. When we posi4on ourselves to assist others, then God opens doors and
people are healed, delivered, and breakthroughs come. Like Ruth who posi4oned herself at
the feet of Boaz, we need to be posi4oned where God wants us to be, so as not to miss out
on the opportuni4es He has for us. If you are stuck in a rut, re-evaluate your posi4on.
We pray that you will be posi4oned this year, where God wants you to be and that you will
yield to the Holy Spirit and in so doing, His blessings will abound in your life.

12 Nov Lenasia Church JLC went to the streets to evangelize
Ps. Johnny did prac4cal street evangelism training with
JLC church in Lenasia. He taught how to strike up a
conversa4on, how to be non evasive and how to bring
the conversa4on around to Jesus
Photo on the leF: This lady was walking to her gate
whilst limping. When asked, she said she had pain in
her knee caused by arthri4s. We asked if we can pray
for her and she invited us into her home. We prayed,
gave her a bible and led her to salva4on.
Street evangelism is not as in4mida4ng as you think!
Doing it as a group can help you overcome your fears.
Photo on the right: While walking we saw some teenagers
siHng on the side of the road. We approached and as we
talked we found out that one of them was deaf and dumb
and prayed for him.
The neighbor took us to the boys mother to tell that we were
praying for the son without her permission. Ini4ally she was
upset because people come and pray with the wrong spirit.
But aFer talking to her about us , she had peace and request-
ed we start a cell group at her home.
The cell group was started by Ps Jarads wife Adilene and the
next week the lady joined us at the Angus Buchan prayer
mee4ng to hand out flyers.
Currently we are busy with a New Chapel at the arrival terminal which will be be:er able to serve the 18000 plus staff and 20
million plus passengers that pass through the airport annually
Ps Johnny Peter is a member of the board of directors since Feb 2016 , and holds a service the first Sunday of each month at
1pm. Churches are encouraged to get involved in this ministry. Contact us for more details.
This ministry was established in 1995 with the vision to build
and maintain a powerful Chris4an ministry at O.R Tambo inter-
nal airport and beyond.
The chaplaincy distributes weekly bible study notes, daily devo-
4ons, bibles and Chris4an magazines across the terminals . It has
trained volunteers to pray with those in need and a counselling
service is available.
Services are currently being held during the week at the chapel
located at the extreme end of Domes4c Terminal B.

2MILLIONBOOKLETS
12 Nov Ps. Sydney brings 2 million booklets into South Africa (S.A)
A Voice to Echo has partnered with Hope SA founder Ps Sydney Francis in his ini4a4ves to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. We
were one of the many churches/organiza4ons to receive the Chris4an literature they brought into South Africa in several of the
local dialects. We would like to support these wonderful ini4a4ves with your help. The word of God in these li:le books can
change peoples lives. They need Jesus and they need the power of His word to transform their lives, especially in their lan-
guage. The next iniave is to bring several thousand copies of the full bible, hard cover into S.A.
A call for the naon to pray: If my people who are called
by my name will humble themselves, repent and turn from
their wicked ways, I will come and heal their land
(2 Chronicles 7v14)
2 Chalets at a silver crown resort was donated to this worthy cause.
There is so much benefit in taking people out of their environment,
and going into the mountains to pray. You can’t put a price on the
value of teaching someone to hear from God for themselves.
Prayer is one of the key things in our
walk with God. If you don’t know how
to communicate with the Father, and to
hear His voice, you will end up making
mistakes and walk around in circles.
This weekend was dedicated to the
foundations of prayer.
6 Powerful sessions were held over
these 3 days. We look at the lives of 2
powerful intercessors Reese Howells
and Phil Halverson. We looked at
Yonggi Cho and what he has
accomplished through prayer. We had
one on one practical sessions where the
older prayer warrior taught the younger
Ps Johnny with his special guests Ps
Sydney Francis, and Evg. Leandro
from Brazil conducted 4 days of
Evangelistic training for Ps Michel,
who is originally from the DRC, and
his church “Ministry of Eternal
Salvation” in Vanderbijlpark. This was
followed by a practical outreach in an
informal settlement 2 weeks later.

Ps Michel and his team of at least 30 people
came to Msawawa to do an outreach. They
led the praise and worship, preached a
powerful gospel message, and gave out
many clothes. The people were deeply
touched by the love that was shown towards
them. It is important to put your theoretical
training into practice as soon as possible.

EX-INMATESPRAYERWALK
8-10 Dec Ex Inmates walk with the church in Tembisa, Daveyton & Kempton
We were invited to visit this home by one of the families
whose daughter lives there. We baked cakes and cele-
brated the year end with them. This is a home of approx.
76 people, of which are mostly elderly women with a
moderate mental disability. The more we expose our-
selves to the needs and the variety of people out there,
the more God will stretch our hearts to care and love for
strangers. We will then be more willing to sacrifice.
CHRISTMASINWATTVILLE
1 Dec - 4 Dec Outreach at Bishop Jones church & Christmas presents
We joined in the Kempton Park prayer walk that
was held by a team made up mostly of former
inmates from the Modderbee Correc4onal
Centre. This group believes its members can fight
crime, substance abuse and gangsterism through
prayer and unity. The group met with the Staon
Commanders in each area and made a confes-
sion of their sins and asked for forgiveness
Ps Andre Roodt says this walk is meant to inspire
people to take a stand against the destruc4ve
influences affec4ng both young and old in their
communi4es.

Abandoned babies are also brought here to
be cared for . This child will wake up to his

16 Dec we celebrated a Voice to Echo members birthday here with a party for the children. We had sev-
eral volunteers come with and we made Christmas decora4ons, brought lunch, cake, party bags and
more Christmas presents. We also went on a tour of the surrounding squa:er camps, as we survey for
the possibility of doing an outreach in this area with the local churches.
13 children needed to go to school Jan 2017.
Sta4onary was donated & R1600 for some school
clothes. More school clothes are needed here.
Approx. 60 Christmas presents were given
for the many children who come through
this home. We met Comfort in Nov 2016
at the City of Jhb in a tender mee4ng and
have become very fond of her. She has a
heart aFer God. She leF her job at
Nedbank due to the huge need that arose
from the squa:er camps next to Riverlea
for abandoned, neglected children. She
turned her own home into an orphanage
with approx. 19 children plus her own 4.
