Dear Reader,

For many children (and, let’s face it, for everyone still young at heart), there is nothing quite like an Advent Calendar to herald the magic and excitement of Christmas.

Many retailers have embraced the concept of counting down to Christmas as a way of building excitement. TV adverts from well known high street names now use Advent Calendars to promote their business. New novelty Advents are launched each year by beauty, candle and wine companies, and the market is growing in both variety and demand. Even homemade Advent Calendars are being posted all over social media; my friend even made a crisp one – yes, a different flavour/brand each day stuck to a board!

But the rise of the novelty Advent has never overshadowed the traditional all paper product; in fact it has been given a boost, with major retailers reporting record sales for 2016.

So what’s new for Caltime by Woodmansterne? All the calendars have been rebuilt from the ground up, designing in improvements to the materials and methods of production at our premises in Croxley and Milton Keynes. For our branded Advents we have added the lovable Mog and Stick Man, and we have increased our 3D offering with two new stand alone Advents (page 13). Our new 3D Advent Decorations are available in three designs, can house small treats or gifts to be discovered each day, and can be hung on the tree or as a garland to decorate the room (pages 4&5).

And what’s still hot from our existing range? Easy, our Milan Cathedral Advent Calendar (page 8), which is why we have introduced two new lines to compliment; St Pauls Cathedral and Westminster Abbey (page 16).
