Taking every opportunity to use theamazing Lake District landscape, we run asmany of our activities as we can in thecountryside.We have a fully accessible boathouse on Bassenthwaite Lake, a dedicatedRiding for the Disabled (RDA) stables inKeswick, and accessible catamarans on lakes Windermere and Derwent Water, as well as numerous activity sites aroundthe National Park.

We cater for up to 60 guests per week in three areas of accommodation: theFarmhouse, the Lower Byre and the Upper Byre. Split into self-contained annexeaccommodation some of our rooms aredesigned specifically with overnight care ofpeople with profound and complex disabilities in mind and include inter-connecting rooms for your staff and guests.

All our accommodation is en-suite with levelentry shower rooms and toilet facilities withgrab handles and plenty of space. Prefer abath? We have fully accessible bathrooms with hoists, transfer seats and changing bedsavailable. The centre also has a Clos-o-Mattoilet. Most rooms are twin, with some 3 or 4beds available and many have fantastic viewsacross the lake or into the woods.

Catering Manager Gary MilesHi I’m Gary, the Catering Manager. Our team of chefsprepare locally sourced meals from fresh ingredientsevery day. Our delicious range of home cookedmeals can be adapted to your dietary needs. If youhave any special dietary requirements please do letus know and we will be happy to help.

Built around a traditional farmstead, thecentre is accessible throughout with slopes,ramps and lifts allowing groups to move freelyaround the site.

The Calvert Trust is a great place to make newfriends; groups can socialise after a busy dayof activities. In the Games Room we havetable tennis, table football and pool tables, atuck shop for souvenirs and a bar for you toenjoy a drink. If you prefer a quiet moment, sitback with a book in the library or catch up withyour favourite soap in the TV lounge. Theregular disco is a popular highlight or howabout a film night on the big screen.

Some groups love the chance to enjoyplaying team games together in the sportshall such as basketball, football, badminton,boccia and relay games.

Our state of the art Water Centre includes ahydrotherapy pool, poolside sauna, multi-sensoryroom and indoor and outdoor seating areas.

The pool combines technology with the warmth ofhydrotherapy to provide a complete sensoryexperience with spa, bubble pads and water curtain.There is also above and below-water lighting andsounds that can be changed to flood the whole poolarea with different colours and music.

To aid access the pool has a raisable floor, poolsidehoist and two pool side changing rooms withchanging beds and overhead tracking hoist.

The sensory room is the perfect place to relax withbubble tubes, lights, projectors and a range oninteractive equipment.
