Esteemed Colleagues, Welcome to the new SBA Newsletter! Each issue will feature SBA meeting highlights, upcoming events and more. Although SBA will continue to publish all of its documents on HatterSync, we want to provide you with a concise and informative monthly update of our activities. It is SBA's mission to provide support and resources for the student body and its organizations. However, this year we are faced with a serious budget shortfall and as many of you will remember, the previous SBA administration was forced to consider raising the Student Fee. In response to this issue, this year's SBA administration is launching new initiatives to fundraise and spend our resources wisely. Often these initiatives are lost in translation when viewing the SBA minutes because of its format so this newsletter will provide us the opportunity to explain each of them in detail. I hope we can count on your support and encouragement in tackling this. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact SBA Executive Board at [email protected]. See you around campus! Sincerely, Dale Tan, President Dale Tan (President): Hello everyone! 2 Ashleigh Thornton (Treasurer): Hello Hatters! My name is Ashleigh Thornton and I look forward to serving as your 2017-2018 Madame Treasurer. In this role, I oversee the expenditures of our SBA budget, which provides financial support for each of our 40+ student organizations. In addition to my participation in the Student Bar Association, I am also a member of the Stetson Trial Team, Vice President of CASL, national member of the Black Law Students Association, and a Teaching Assistant for Professor Piccard. When I am not on campus, you will catch me yoga-ing or spending time with family. Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can ever be of assistance!

Katie Holland (Secretary): Hi everyone! My name is Katie Holland and I am honored to serve as your Secretary this upcoming year. In addition to my involvement within SBA, I am also a Stetson Ambassador and member of the Student Leadership Development Committee. In my free time, I play intramural softball and frequently go to spin class. I spearheaded this newsletter to enhance communication between the Stetson community and SBA and truly look forward to your feedback!

Aman Dhaliwal (Parliamentarian): Hello everyone! My name is Aman and I have lived in the Tampa Bay area for pretty much my entire life. I went to USF for undergrad, graduating with my Bachelor’s in Biomedical Sciences in 2011, before matriculating to UF and attending UF’s College of Pharmacy until 2014. I realized that pharmacy was not the right career choice for me and made the decision to attend Stetson. The Stetson community is amazing and I love being able to participate and give back to the school in any way that I can. Upon graduation, I would like to pursue a career in intellectual property or healthcare law. Noelle Cummins (Sports Commissioner): Welcome back everyone! My name is Noelle Cummins, but I go by Elle, and I am your Sports Commissioner for the upcoming year. I am a 3L and I hope to do criminal prosecution after law school. If you have any questions about intramurals, I’m your girl!
