Cambridge Memorial Garden Cemetery Cambridge, Somerset County, Maine 1814 - present, active appr 700 burials SomCam01 This cemetery was called Village Cemetery #1 in 1972 MOCA recording by Taylor, Jackson & Jackson. Traveling on Rt. #152 (West Ripley Road), going north from West Ripley to Cambridge, cemetery is located past the Town Office, approximately ¾ of a mile before entering the village - left side of the road. GPS: Latitude: 45.023N x Longitude: -69.462W DISCLAIMER: We received a Lot Map from the town, fairly recent, not as burials were done, so many lots and stones are still unknown. The town numbered their rows so that Row 1 is in the middle, back when that was the newest row, and deeds and other records may be identified by those row numbers. We have numbered the rows in the standard manner from oldest by the woods as Row 1, to newest so that people can find them. Only the most recent burials have lot numbers and those are unchanged. Stones to the Left of the driveway are labelled L. Some rows start out and then merge into others, and are therefore shorter. Stones in rows after Row 18 near the driveway were not labelled by row by the town, and stones are staggered and different directions and some have Lot #s that are not really in order, so are labelled as simply "Row 20", starting from the road. I numbered all the stones/spaces in each row. If more than one person is on a stone, I number them 1.1, 1.2, etc. At a later date the rear of the cemetery was developed and do not match the Row numbers, so those sections are simply RR, CR, & LR for right, center and left rear. All dates and names have been verified or corrected. Added references include Marble Monument Co records, Mortality censuses, SSDI (Social Security Death Index), censuses, D/C death certificates, MDI (Maine Death Index), Maine marriage index, and actual vital records. Data also added from Cambridge town records, and their Veterans list for flag placement. This cemetery is abbreviated CMG, the other cemetery Mt Pleasant is MP. This cemetery was called Village Cemetery #1 in 1972 MOCA recording by Taylor, Jackson & Jackson.

Traveling on Rt. #152 (West Ripley Road), going north from West Ripley to Cambridge, cemetery is located past the Town Office,

approximately ¾ of a mile before entering the village - left side of the road.

GPS: Latitude: 45.023N x Longitude: -69.462W

DISCLAIMER: We received a Lot Map from the town, fairly recent, not as burials were done, so many lots and stones are still

unknown. The town numbered their rows so that Row 1 is in the middle, back when that was the newest row, and deeds and other records

may be identified by those row numbers. We have numbered the rows in the standard manner from oldest by the woods as Row 1, to

newest so that people can find them. Only the most recent burials have lot numbers and those are unchanged.

Stones to the Left of the driveway are labelled L. Some rows start out and then merge into others, and are therefore shorter. Stones in

rows after Row 18 near the driveway were not labelled by row by the town, and stones are staggered and different directions and some

have Lot #s that are not really in order, so are labelled as simply "Row 20", starting from the road. I numbered all the stones/spaces in

each row. If more than one person is on a stone, I number them 1.1, 1.2, etc. At a later date the rear of the cemetery was developed and do

not match the Row numbers, so those sections are simply RR, CR, & LR for right, center and left rear. All dates and names have been

verified or corrected. Added references include Marble Monument Co records, Mortality censuses, SSDI (Social Security Death Index),

censuses, D/C death certificates, MDI (Maine Death Index), Maine marriage index, and actual vital records. Data also added from

Cambridge town records, and their Veterans list for flag placement. This cemetery is abbreviated CMG, the other cemetery Mt Pleasant is
