Managers Minute
It's March already! Spring, please slow down!
I can't believe it is March already. In only a few months our northern friends will be packing up and going back to their Northern homes leaving all of us Floridians behind. We will miss all who leave us for a spell. Now is the time to start thinking about power washing, weeding, shrub trimming and general clean up around your homes.
Please make sure you tell us who will be watching over your home while you are away. Last year we had to send out 62 violation notices to residents whose homes needed some TLC while they were away. Remember, in the summer it rains seemingly without stopping and the weeds and shrubs grow fast, to say the least. Thank you for making the necessary arrangements concerning your homes. All of our residents are so caring and because of that Camelot East is the #1 place to reside in Sarasota! God Bless you and America, Gail Sterling- Manager At your service, Gail Sterling

Getting to know you…
Jack and Lorraine Wilson are seasonal residents. Their other home is in Barrie, Ontario Canada, they enjoy and are equally comfortable in both countries. Jack grew up in Toronto,
graduated from George Harvey Colligate, joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served his country for 35 years. Lorraine grew up in Gander, Newfoundland and graduated from St Michael’s High School. After graduation she worked at Canadian National Tele-Communications. They met at a hockey game. A blind date had been arranged by one of Jack’s friends. Jack wasn’t happy with the idea at first until he saw Lorraine in the stands. He played that game tripping all over himself trying to impress her and 53 years later she still commands all his attention. They found Camelot East through a friend who lived here. As they drove through the gate Lorraine said “I’m home” and they completed their purchased in 1991. Jack and Lorraine have two children, Steve a Major in the Canadian Armed Forces and daughter Cathy a Court Prosecutor for the city of Barrie. They have 3 lovely grandchildren. Jack did a lot of traveling while in the Military and in retirement their travel consists of visiting friends and going on cruises. When I asked Jack “What are your hobbies?” He said “keeping the child bride happy!” He enjoys bicycling, dancing and home repair projects. Being a part of the H.O.A. Board is most satisfying to him and it’s his way of giving back to the community. Lorraine loves to read, dance, walk and cross stitch. When I asked what they liked about Camelot East, their response was “the feeling of being home, it is comfortable here and the people are always there to support one and another.” They also enjoy all the activities that are available with the option to do as much or as little as you like. We are happy they chose Camelot East!
Betty Lou Vegh is the Mother-in-law of Gail Sterling whom is married to her daughter Becky Lou. Betty moved here from San Clemente, California about two years ago. She is enjoying the peaceful and
safe community of Camelot East. Betty was married for over sixty years! Her late husband Moses was a church Pastor for many years in Findlay, Ohio, where they raised their family. Moses went to be with the Lord on January 25, 2014 and is missed very much by family and friends around the world. Betty has six children (one in Heaven) and nineteen grandchildren (two in Heaven). She also has eight great granddaughters, so life keeps her quite busy. Moses and Betty’s ministry was called “Ambassadors of Hope”. The Lord allowed them to travel to many nations to tell of the love of Jesus, (The good news of the gospel). They also lived in Budapest, Hungary for about four years as Moses spoke the Hungarian language. Betty is so thankful that she gave her life to the Lord in her youth and for God’s blessings on their family over the years. There is nothing to compare with the peace of God that passes understanding (Phil 4:7). We are so glad you are here!
Gail Sterling is our Manager. He is from North Baltimore, Ohio right outside of Toledo. Gail was a Diamond importer for 27 years, sold 2 stores and sold over 100 million in diamonds & jewelry. He owned two businesses one was Gail Sterling Associates Diamond
Wholesale and Sterling Diamonds Retail. His son Christian bought the retail business and still owns it today. Becky worked as a secretary at Hope Temple Church in Findley where they met. On their first date in 1977, Gail was 17 and Becky 19 he asked her to marry him! She said “yes, sometimes dreams come true”. They will be married this November 17th for 39 years. A year and a half later they had their first child Christian, a year and a half after that came Steven and five years later they had Ashley. Gail and Becky have five granddaughters who call them Pa Pa and Mi Mi. Our residents get to see them when they go around on the golf carts or if they are performing on stage. In 2005 they moved to California for only 3 months. Moved to Florida to become a Real Estate Agent with ReMax. In 2008 Gail was nominated Top Real Estate Agent in all of Florida. He was in the top 10 out of 11,000 agents! They also worked with a missionary based in Oakland, California for 1 year. Gail was fortunate to go to China. In 2010 Gail started
5
as a Community Manager at Gulf Stream Towers in downtown Sarasota for 1 year. Followed by Bayshore Windmill Village in Bradenton, he was there for 2 and a half years and sold 86 homes there. In 2013 Gail was offered the Manager position at Camelot East, he loves it here! He also coached Basketball for 17 years with 102 wins and 46 losses. Becky was a wonderful stay at home Mom raising their children. One of her great passions is decorating, you get to see some of it here around Christmas time. She also enjoys shopping and absolutely loves being a Grandmother. Gail says “she is lovely on the inside and out”. Together they have been on 15 cruises, their favorite is the Royal Caribbean Allure of the Seas. Gail likes to Golf and is a master Spin instructor. Becky says “he has rode 24,000 miles on the spin bike since 2005, gone all the way around the world and hasn’t gone anywhere”. LoL. Lastly he has been a Jazz Trumpeter for 44years! When I asked him what he loves about Camelot East he said, “Location, how safe and clean it is, and all of the friendly residents”. We all are GLAD to have you here as our Manager.
Painting & Pizza
What a combination! On March 27th from Noon to 2:30 let’s get together for a fun time painting. Pizza and salad will be served. All paint supplies provided. You will go home with a wonderful painting created by YOU! Cost $35.00. See you in the auditorium.
Events coming up and when to buy tickets. Remember the first two weeks of an event that is not sponsored by management, only HOA members are able to buy tickets the first two weeks. That means they could sell out and this is a great reason to sign up as a member. To sign up to be a member simply, make a check payable to Camelot East H.O.A in the amount of $15.00 and place it in the wooden box located directly next to the sign up books in the hallway.

Wow!! A good time was had by all at the Annual dance. With great music by Spotlight Entertainment. There was a sold out crowd. The evening began with pictures taken by Greg Chapman. The meal consisted of Philly cheese steaks, mac & cheese, caesar salad and chips. The games were fun, musical chairs, pin the tail on the donkey, with cash awards to the winning tables. During the evening music and dancing, we also had contests consisting of the Twist and the best costume! Prizes were awarded. There was a 50/50 drawing and half of the money ($187.00) was donated to Children’s Hospital of Tampa. Also a very nice donation from Arney Inc.! At the end of the evening root beer floats were served. The evening ended with guests holding hands and singing “Proud to be an American”. The party was a success due to an outstanding committee consisting of Denny & Ann DiTullio, Cindy Gober, Ed & Marcia Robinson, Steve & Tanya Sheridan and Terry & Karen Tomson.

Camelot East HOA Board Resolution 1Tickets Sales for HOA EventsEffective August 1, 2014
On March 6, 2014 Mike Koon makes a motion that ticket sales, after August 1, 2014, would go on sale and be limited to HOA members only for the first two weeks of ticket availability. After the second week, tickets will be available to all residents and guests. This motion will take effect after checking with management about the Social Fund payment. Nancy Cammack seconded the motion. The motion passed with five yes votes and one no vote.
Be it resolved that any HOA Member in good standing may buy tickets to HOA events during the first two weeks of ticket sales, beginning with ticket sales after August 1st 2014. The HOA Homeowner may assign their ticket buying rights to a seasonal renter during their occupancy of said property. If the HOAHomeowner member doesn't assign their ticket purchasing rights, the seasonal renter may purchase an associate membership in the HOA, as defined in the Camelot East HOA By-Laws, affording the renter
all HOA privileges set in the By-Laws including the right to early sale tickets. This does not affect otherHOA membership rights as described in the HOA Bylaws.
Be it further resolved that this resolution is a policy statement from the Camelot East HOA Board and remains in effect until changed by a future vote of the Board.

LIVING A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE – ON THE BRIGHT SIDEby Roni Antenucci, Wellness Consultant
The past three weeks have turned out to be an interesting learning experience for me. I consider myself to be a pretty optimistic person, but, I had been trying to recover from a persistent, debilitating illness. Just as I appeared to be recovering – bang, I got sick again and it was beginning to get me down.
An old friend passing through on her way north decided to stop for an overnight visit. She brought with her all the news from the north about many people we knew – who was ill, who had become incapacitated, who died, who divorced, and, in general, she recited a litany of “bad” news. When she left the next day, I found myself bone-weary, exhausted and down in the dumps. I had allowed myself to become infected by her emphasis on the deterioration of the aging process in our mutual friends.
The following week we had another visitor from out of town. He spoke about his lack of desire to travel, to visit family or friends, or even to leave his home because it meant that he had to make decisions when he would much rather just stay put and watch the world go by. When I asked why, his answer surprised me. “I have to worry about making reservations, getting there on time, making sure everything is in order at home, cancel the paper, and what if we get sick . . . .“ On and on the list went. He worried about everything and it was obvious that he feared what would happen if he didn’t. I wanted to argue – it’s just a part of life, of living. Yet, I was aware he already knew that.
Both of our visitors seem to have absorbed a belief in all the stereotypes of an old age that saps us of life. But the reality is while we do need to adjust to the limitations of our bodies as we age, we do not need to let those limitations define us. Now is the time to explore new ideas, thoughts, relationships, behaviors and goals and allow them to help reshape the old ideas that have controlled our lives in the past. We can begin to look at the bright side of aging – the experience and wisdom we have to create a life more suited to who we want to become in the here and now.

Understanding the best protein to burn fat and gain lean body massSubmitted by Arlene Wisser
Source: http://www.isagenixhealth.net/what-kind-of-protein-is-best-for-losing-weight/Whey is high in leucine, a branched-chain amino acid, which has been shown to stimulate muscle protein synthesis and muscle turnover. The study tested the metabolic rate, satiety, and glucose control of 23 lean, healthy individuals following one of the meal options. Subjects were tested in a metabolic chamber measuring their basal (resting) energy expenditure. Both protein type and how it is sourced matters. research from the Nestle Research Center in Switzerland, whey protein consumed at breakfast, lunch, and dinner proved most successful than either casein or soy proteins for boosting fat burning and simultaneously reducing muscle loss. whey protein elicits a greater thermic response than does protein composed of either casein or soy,” the scientists report in the March issue of The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. The thermic effect of food is a measurement of the amount of energy that is required for digestion and absorption and metabolism. Put simply, the act of eating and digesting both brings in calories and burns them. Eating foods with a higher thermic effect can support weight management goals, and in the case of whey protein, even promote muscle growth.http://www.isagenixhealth.net/wheys-amino-acid-profile-best-for-building-muscle-in-older-men/

and slow-digesting properties to maximize muscle retention through sustained blood amino acid levels, increase
Research suggests that the glycemic impact of the foods you eat at one meal can last for up to 14 hours and influence what you decide to eat for your next meal.hermogenesis, promote satiety, and encourage healthy weight management.A growing hot topic in the field of biomedical research is intermittent fasting where the body’s natural rhythm is designed to give the digestive system a rest between dinner and breakfast. But there is a growing appreciation and need for an extension to intermittent fasting called nutritional cleansing that takes health and body composition to a whole new level. This is where the body’s natural detoxification process is supported by an antioxidant and botanical-rich beverage on periodic cleanse days. Why is nutritional cleansing becoming a more popular part of a healthy life style? Primarily, the body’s own natural detox process is over burdened by toxins in today’s environment, the food we eat and the water we drink. That applies to everyone. Ideally, we need to efficiently release the toxins to promote fat burning and in turn the ability to increase healthy lean muscle massWhen individuals people go on low-caloric diets to release weight, as an example, weight can be released but the not the toxins. The body, in turn, is naturally forced into survival mode by storing fat (known as visceral fat) to protect its vital organs and tissues from the lodged toxins. The weight rebounds. Ingredients in our food system, notably in processed foods, the deficiency of minerals in our soil and the growing list of approved chemicals are some of the many underlying challenges that were not present many years ago.Ongoing research studies from Skidmore College in New York, increasingly suggest that programs with nutritional cleanse days, in combination with days consuming quality protein shakes and healthy meals and snacks, can increase the chance of a healthier, longer life. We get to burn body fat and gain lean muscle more efficiently with improving metabolic and cardiovascular markers that including insulin sensitivity and arterial health. Bottom line, we can look to nutritional cleansing as a missing link to a healthy lifestyle. For more on Solutions for Weight, Energy, Performance and Healthy Aging, visit http://bit.ly/16YDgZ7
What is primary care?
Primary care means frontline care, and it can come from doctors (family physicians, internists or pediatricians), physician assistants or nurse practitioners, with help from other team members such as nurses, physical/occupational therapists, dentists, pharmacists, social workers, psychologists and others. Primary care clinicians are the quarterbacks of patient care.
They make sure that their patients and their needs don’t fall through the cracks of our increasingly confusing health care system. Primary care clinicians care for their patients across the spectrum of their care, including:
• being the first point of contact for undiagnosed health problems
• comprehensive, whole-person care• building longitudinal relationships and treating
chronic problems• coordinating across other health services
...continued on page 14
14
Why is primary care so important?
It’s simple: Primary care clinicians ensure that patients get the right care, in the right setting, by the most appropriate practitioner and in a manner consistent with the patient’s desires and values.
Data on our health care system increasingly show that areas with higher concentrations of primary care clinicians have lower cost, higher quality health care. But we don’t need data to confirm what each of us know already: the incredible value of being cared for by someone who knows us well and understands both our health issues and our personal values. Key stakeholders – employers, legislators and patients – are increasingly recognizing the value of primary care.
What is revitalized primary care?
Primary care that achieves the "quadruple aim" is what is considered revitalized. The quadruple calls for providing better health care, enhancing the patient experience, lowering health care costs and improving the work life of health care clinicians and staff members.

Healthy Recipes - Eggplant NapoleonIntroductionThis recipe was inspired by moussaka, eggplant Parmesan and lasagna. The result is a light and tasty meatless meal that makes any night a special occasion.Minutes to Prepare: 10Minutes to Cook: 20Number of Servings: 4
Ingredients
TipsWhen breading, think dry hand, wet hand. Use one hand to dip ingredients into the wet parts (eggs, milk, water, etc.) and gently transfer into the dry ingredients (flour, bread crumbs, etc.). Use the "dry hand" to transfer breaded items to the pan.
DirectionsPreheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
Place a large saute pan over moderate heat. Heat the pan, then heat the oil. Add the onions and cook for 2 minutes (we're sweating not sauteing them, so we don't want them to get any color). Add the mushrooms and zucchini to the pan, stir to combine, and cook for 2 minutes. Add the spices and tomatoes, stir again, and simmer for 8 minutes.
While the tomato sauce is simmering, prepare the eggplant. Place the egg whites in a flat-bottomed dish and the bread crumbs in a second dish. Dip each slice of eggplant into the egg whites using one hand, then coat in the bread crumbs using the other hand.
Place a nonstick skillet over moderate heat. When the pan is warm, remove from heat briefly to spritz with nonstick cooking spray. Place the pan back on the burner. Saute each slice for 30 seconds per side, just to brown the bread crumbs.
Layer half of the eggplant in a 9x13-inch baking dish. Top each slice with 1/4 cup sauce. Layer the remaining eggplant on top of the first set of slices (you're creating eggplant stacks). Top each stack with another 1/4 cup of sauce. Sprinkle on the cheese, and bake for 10 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Serve with an additional 1/4 cup sauce.
Makes 4 servings, each serving contains 3/4 cup of sauce
• 2 teaspoon olive oil• 1 large onion, chopped• 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced• 3 small zucchini, chopped• 1 14.5-ounce can no salt added petite diced
tomatoes• 1 14.5-ounce can no salt added crushed
tomatoes• 1 teaspoon dried oregano
• 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme• 1/2 teaspoon black pepper• 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes• 2 large eggplants, sliced 3/4" thick• 2 egg whites, beaten• 1/2 cup bread crumbs (preferably whole-
wheat or panko)• 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, shredded• 2 tablespoons low-moisture mozzarella
cheese, shredded

Not All Roofers Are Created Equal! When choosing a business to do work on your home it is important to consider all the factors. Sometimes the cheapest option is not the best. Keep these tips in mind the next time you choose a service provider, especially a roofer.
How Many Years in Business? This demonstrates expertise in the field. If a warranty is involved it shows the company’s ability to stand behind it. If a company has been around for a long time, it is probably for a good reason.
Who Is Doing the Actual Work?Does the company use subcontractors or their own employees? Employees tend to me more reliable because the business owner holds them accountable day-to-day versus subcontractors who can come and go.
Consider More Than The Price!A roof is a durable product meant to last for years. When it comes to durable goods for your home like roofs, air conditioners, windows, etc. who installs them can be an important factor. Remember the old adage “Good work isn’t cheap...Cheap work isn’t good...”

Please note the change of color on the map! The only place you can walk your dog is in white.
Where can I walk my pet? This question is the most asked question I have as the manager at Camelot East and I want to answer it so everyone understands the boundaries and the rules. The lots around the circumference of the community are called PERIMETER lots. Over the years they have been mistakenly called pet lots. The PERIMETER lots just happen to be the only lots we allow residents to have pets in their home without a Doctors order. You do not have to own a pet to purchase a home on the PERIMETER lots. The Americans with Disability Act (ADA) mandates that the community must give “ reasonable accommodations” to residents who have either a service animal or companion pet with a Doctors orders to reside on a NON-PERIMETER lot. However, those pet owners must abide by the same rules for pet walking as the PERIMETER home owners with pets do.1. As you can see on the map all pets are to be
walked on the designated “White” areas.2. They are to have their pets on a leash.3. They must pick up their doggie waste in a plastic
bag.4. They are to have their pets on a short leash so they
do not have dog waste in someone’s hedges or flower area beside their homes.
5. The next rule most residents don’t know or don’t remember... the pet owner can only walk their pet and have their pet “ do their duty” on PERIMETER LOTS ONLY! Not on inside lots that are across the road from PERIMETER lots.
6. A pet owner must carry their pet if they want access to another PERIMETER area to walk their pet. No crossing the non- pet areas is allowed unless the pet is carried or carted to a PERIMETER area.
7. At NO TIME is a pet owner allowed to walk their pets around the LAKE CAMELOT!
8. Any dog who habitually barks and becomes a nuisance or a threat to the community and its residents will be evicted from the community, regardless if it is a service animal or a companion pet. Unfortunately, in my career as a manager, I have had to evict 2 dogs from a community.
9. If habitual violations occur the pet owner can be evicted from the community because of rules violations.
10. All immunizations records on their pets must be kept current and a copy of them must be supplied to the office to be put into the residents file. This is for health and safety reasons.
The owners and Management of Camelot East appreciate each and every home owner. We thank you ahead of time as you abide by all of the rules of the community. At your service,Gail Sterling Manager
