THS is an online / in-class high school, inspected by the Ontar-io Ministry of Education in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Found-ed in 2015, THS issues High School Credit Course leading to Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). Credit Courses issued by THS, online or in-class, are the same credits as issued all public schools in Ontario, which count towards the Ontario Secondary School Diploma.

Online education is a flexible, accessible, and efficient meth-od of learning that learners of all ages can benefit from, by using electronic technology to replace the traditional class-room. Taking an online class helps students use technology in new and different ways. These processes help students to expand their computer and technological skills and be active-ly involved in what they are learning.

At Toronto High School, each online class involves an OCT (Ontario College of Teachers) certified instructor who com-municates with sttudents and helps to convey the material. Our office staff also supports our students with any technical inquiry to facilitate their learning process.

Toronto High School offers online Grade 9-12 courses to all students who fulfilled prerequisite requirements. The online courses are full credit courses delivered through a virtual class-room setting. Courses are scheduled for 110 hours of instruc-tion and are delivered asynchronously. As part of the learning experience, students will have access to online learning mod-ules, various online tools, simulations, and/ or examples, as well as online discussion forums. Course teachers are available through forums and email, and occasionally in face-to-face/ video telephony sessions to support students throughout the course. Students are required to have internet access to com-plete these courses. Some of these tools may be available for on-site students.

Flexible schedule and environment: Learn anytime, anywhere, which also improves student’s self-disci-pline, responsibility, and time management skills. Students may log on any time they are available, and work wherever they feel comfortable.

Content scaffolding: Using familiar and highly inter-esting content, our instructors make beautiful and intuitive lessons to keep our learners engaged and motivated.

Self-Paced Learning: Students can complete courses in about 2 months and earn their de-gree quicker. Students can also go back over previous lessons to make sure they understand the information correctly.

Moreover, submitting assignments electronically, eliminates the need to print materials, which is environmental friendly, and also reduces costs.

Chathams-Kent Campus is our new boarding school, which strives to meet the diverse academic needs of its multicultural student body. We pride ourselves on the variety of backgrounds and experiences that our students bring to the school. Our faculty and staff are dedicated to providing a nurturing climate that allows students to adapt to the Ontario secondary school program, and earn credits towards the OSSD (Ontario Secondary School Diploma) and uni-versity prerequisite courses.

Being 25 years in school business, so far, more than 90% of our graduated students have received admissions and have been accepted by top universities in Canada, such as McMaster University, University of Waterloo, University of Toronto, McGill University and many more. We look forward to providing our students the life skills and qualities they will need to become successful global citizens.

Kent International Academy operates in semesters. There are 4 semesters in each school year: Semesters 1 and 2 are during the regular school year, and Semesters 3 and 4 are summer school, taking place in July and August.

Sport-Balance Body & Mind

Embrace Canadian Culture & English LanguageA personalized English as a Second Language (ESL) program is available for students whose first language is not English. Intensive ESL classes enhance reading, writing, speaking and listen-ing skills. The timetable is blended with regular classes in other subject areas to help students integrate quickly into the full English program.

Homely accommodation

Our school counselors will call the parents/guardians of a stu-dent at least once a month to discuss their child’s progress. We encourage the parents/guardians to get in touch with school staffs more frequent. Also, Parents/Guardians are encouraged to login to our Moodle platform which will allow them to ac-cess their children’s academic progress, and their attendance during the academic school year.

A report card will be provided to the student and parents twice per course, one mid-way through the course, and one at the end of the course. A report card will be sent to the student’s parents and/or guardians by mail after the completion of every course. The original copy will be mailed to the parent/guardian and the student shall receive a photocopy of their grade report.

Our modern on-campus student residence is bright, comfort-able and secure. Homestay in English speaking Canadian families are also available.

A midterm report card will be issued when students have com-pleted approximately half of the course material (~55 hours of a full credit course). A final report card will be issued when students have complet-ed all requirements for a course, including all assignments, tests, discussion postings, learning logs and the final exam.
