• CTU’s mission is to focus on training,
conducting research and transferring
technology to advance the sustainable socio-
economic development of the Mekong delta
region.

CTU’s researchers closely working with farmers to treat
diseases in rice production that help sustainable rice
development in the MD: No. 1 Rice Export country
Successful artificial breeding of Pangasius that help MD
become leading in Pangasius production in the wold
Many Agricultural and Aquacultural Models successfully
transferred to farmers in the MD.
CTU is center of scientific information supplies and technology

• 2003: Quality Management Groups established to work on EFQM
standards supported by Dutch experts;
•2006: Quality Assurance & Testing Center (QATC) established to work
on EFQM and other standards;
• 2006: External assessment at Institution level by MOET standards, with
92,86% approval vote
• 2008-2013: Accreditation activities at Program level by MOET and
AUN-QA standards
• 2008: Initial steps to approach ABET standards for engineering and
technology programs/CDIO

Conclusions
Quality Assurance plays very important role in developing
Cantho University, especially in high quality student graduate
CTU plays an important role in term of training human
resources and technology transfer for serving the development of
the Mekong River Delta, Viet Nam.
Mekong Delta plays important roles in Agriculture and
Aquaculture in Vietnam and It needs more investment in human
resources and technology development in future.
International collaboration contributes great in developing CTU
in the past and future
