GarageBand Level 2: Advanced Artwork

What appears in the podcast track will also appear below in the track editor.

The Episode Artwork image

will appear at the beginning of the podcast when it is played back.

Double click any photo to edit the artwork; you can resize the image and move the image.

GarageBand Level 2: Advanced Artwork

Things to Consider:

1.) You can adjust the size and move the image using the artwork editor. However, you may crop an image into a square in iPhoto in advance.

2.) If making a podcast with multiple images, consider resizing your images to a smaller size in iPhoto (see DR for resource sheet); this will affect the file size of the overall podcast.

GarageBand Level 2: Volume 101

• This is the volume adjust for the entire podcast; individual track volume can also be adjusted.

• When speaking into the microphone, your goal is to be see high levels of green but not red. See star above.

• In an individual track, volume can be adjusted.

• The speaker button will mute/unmute the track.

• See the next slide to adjust the volume within the track.

Click the arrow to see the track volume option.

Click anywhere on the blue line and a blue dot will appear. You can drag the blue dots to make the track louder and softer.

This is especially helpful for fading in and fading out or to adjust the song volume when someone is speaking.

Include PowerPoint Slides

1.) Create your slide in PowerPoint.2.) File > Save As3.) Type in desired filename and choose location to save.4.) At format, choose .jpeg.5.) Each slide in the slideshow is now saved as a separate .jpeg file; they will all be saved within one folder.

Include PowerPoint Slides

1.) Open iPhoto.2.) File > Import to Library OR File > Add to Library3.) Choose import OR drag photos from hard drive to library. 4.) Your PowerPoint slide photo(s) will now be in your iPhoto library.

Note: You may need to quit GarageBand and/or iPhoto and re-open in order to see them appear in GarageBand.

Sharing a Podcast

• Post to your school website, teacher website, etc; consider creating a blog for an ongoing project.

• Use the podcasting page template in iWeb(you would need a .mac account or need to find a place to host this option)

• Send to your local iTunes or save to disk; then burn a data CD or sync to your iPod/mp3 player.

• Post to iTunes/Podcast Store.Users can subscribe to your podcast with a RSS feed.

• Email via CLC to share with staff.

• Send to appropriate resource teacher to host on the DR.

Sharing a Podcast• Send to your local iTunes or save to disk;

then burn a data CD or sync to your iPod/mp3 player.

1.) Saved locally and transfered to teacher’s laptop.2.) Teacher created playlist of Student Created Podcasts in iTunes.

3.) A data CD was burned for students to take and use at home. 4.) This list could also be synced to an iPod of mp3 player.

Sharing a Podcast• Post to iTunes/Podcast Store.

1.) Upload to iTunes Store.2.) Share location with

students, staff, and community so they can use the resources from home.3.) Anyone can download and use these podcasts so

be especially wary of student safety issues.

To Post to the iTunes Store:

1.) You must have an active iTunes

account.2.) Go to iTunes

home > Podcasts > scroll to bottom of

the page > Submit a Podcast.
