CIF National update:
National CIF membership steady at approximately 2200+ Forestry Chronicle continues to be highly valued journal:
– Recent “Forest History” theme issue published– FRIAA theme issue in the works
Joint National CIF AGM with SAF National Convention and XXIV IUFRO World Congress (Oct 8-11, 2014, Salt Lake City, Utah, USA)
Whitecourt “Forest Capital of Canada” designation extended to 2015; additional RMS events planned
CIF National update:
New Prince of Wales Forest Leadership Award, Canada/UK /TD Bank, $12K
HRH Award for Sustainable Forestry launched last year
National Forests without Borders (FwB) program growing:– Obtained charitable status from GOC– Provincial caucuses in NL, ON, AB and BC
Continue building links to USA, China, Asia CIF Silver Ring program review ongoing –

RMS Update:
Section membership approximately 450; 10+ Sustaining Corp Members from Alberta
Provide ongoing continuing competency opportunities for CIF and CAPF/CAPFT members:– Three Tech Sessions planned for 2014-15; details to follow
Support a variety of student awards, events and activities AB caucus FwB Project - Nepal Village School Seedling Nursery
