Dear Friends:
Thank you for attending tonight’s event. This is our 26th CAN/AM NATIONALS. In 1992 the very first CAN/AM was held at the Riviera Theatre. I was a contestant in that contest. I judged the show the next year in 1993. The show was not run in 1994 and in 1995 I took it over. I also met Jennifer who was a contestant in 1995 and is now my wife. We have 4 amazing children who are here tonight. The CAN/AM is NY States oldest natural bodybuilding show. It has been run at the Riviera, Rockwell Hall, Kleinhans, UB Center for the Arts, Flickinger Performing Art Center and now here at Maryvale. It has been an incredible journey for me. Over 1400 Natural Athletes have graced the CAN/AM stage. Some have become IFBB Pros. I am honored to have provided them the opportunity to achieve their goals without the use of harmful performance enhancement drugs.
The 1st CAN/AM had Men’s and Women’s Bodybuilding. Women’s Fitness was added in 1995. We now have classes that include Bikini, Figure, and Men’s and Women’s Physique along with Pro Divisions. For 2018, we have included an all new Transformation class.
At the Natural Muscle Association (NMA), we test for Steroids, Growth Hormone, Prescription Diuretics, and Prescription drugs used to enhance the athletes physique. Drug testing is done with the use of Polygraph and/or Urinalysis.
The NMA began its start in Buffalo NY with the CAN/AM and OLYMPUS events. Six years ago the expansion began with the GREAT LAKES show in Erie PA and then the Mr/Ms CLEVELAND the following year. We have added one more event in Pennsylvania and three more Ohio events along with 2 events in Georgia and one South Carolina. This is a very exciting time as we grow and expand the NMA throughout the country. I want to thank you for the continued support that I have received for over 24 years. It is an honor to run these events for you. Every competitor has worked very hard to present to you the best physique they can. So please join me with lots of clapping and cheering to show them how much we appreciate their hard work and dedication.
Pro status will be awarded to the overall winner in the following divisions: Bikini Open, Figure Open, Men’s Physique and Men’s Open Bodybuilding. National Qualifier status will be awarded to the top two in each division in those open classes.
Once again thank you for your support. Jerry Marsala Natural Muscle Association President

Core Nutritionals is headed by drug-free pro bodybuilder Doug Miller, and his wife, drug-free pro figure competitor Stephanie Miller. Sick and tired of supplements that are built around hype and that simply do not work, Doug uses his biochemistry background to focus on producing superior products that are proven to work. Doug personally selects the most effective and highest quality ingredients for his line of supplements, and designs formulas to be effective for both elite and “weekend-warrior” athletes. Many supplement companies offer fantastic promises with little or no information to back up their claims. Others hide behind secret “proprietary” blends, which may contain only trace elements of the advertised ingredients. We don’t take shortcuts or skimp on effective ingredients just to save a buck, and we don’t use “fillers.” Core Nutritionals always lets the consumer know exactly what is in its products, guarantees quality with rigorous testing, and even backs up product claims with blood work results. Also, all Core Nutritional products are manufactured in the U.S. and in cGMP facilities. The Core Nutritionals brand is built on and represented through an everyday adherence to the CRUSH IT® mentality. From the gym to the stage, at home, and in our relationships with colleagues, customers, and industry affiliates, this commitment never waivers. We strive for perfection and success but always remain committed to our unwavering integrity and values while helping to bring out the best in others. Step up to this pursuit of excellence and CRUSH IT® with the Core Nutritionals team.
