    How to SearchFor a Candidate

    1. From your My Dice page, go to Post

    Jobs & Find Candidates and selectCandidate Search.

    2. Keywords: Enter keywords for yourcandidate search and select from three

    opons:

    Match All Words: Matches all wordsin a search string

    Match Any Words: Matches anysingle word or combinaon of words

    in your search string

    Boolean: Allows a more specicsearch using Boolean terms such as

    AND, OR, and NOT.

    * For help with Boolean searches,see Building a Beer Search with

    Boolean Operators on the Employer

    Log-in page, contact your Customer

    Support representave, or email

    [email protected].

    TalentMatch will search a job seekersenre prole and resume for thesewords.

    3. ThirdParty Candidates: Exclude isselected by default.

    4. Search by Desired Posion: Use thesame Match All/Any/Boolean funcons

    to search just the Desired Posion

    eld on the seekers resume. Use this

    eld carefully; remember that your

    company may call someone a network

    engineer, but a perfect candidate may

    list his desired posion as systems

    engineer.

    5. Locaon Opons: You can search forcandidates in a Zip Code/City radius

    search or for candidates willing to work

    in or relocate to a parcular State/

    Country.

    6. Work Authorizaon: Select as few or asmany choices as you need.

    7. Most Recent Employer: Cherry-pick thebest candidates from the compeon.

    8. Days Back: Use the drop-down menu toselect the age of the resumes you wish

    to review.

    9. Job Classifcaon: Select up to verelevant job tles. Keep in mind that as

    with the Search by Desired Posion

    eld, this can help you pinpoint

    candidates by their current and

    recent job tles, but can also exclude

    candidates because of a job name.

    10. Select Qualifcaons - Match Skills:Rene your search results to include

    not just everyone with a certain

    keyword on their resume, but only

    the people with a certain level of

    that skill. Start typing the skill or

    technology in the Match Skills box, and

    select the number of years of required

    experience.

    Thisonly searches the related seconon the job seekers proles, where they

    have idened a skill and their level of

    experse in a similar manner. These

    results (or lack of a match) will override

    any matches found based solely on the

    keywords feld.

    11. Select Preferences:

    Security Clearance: Check this box tolimit your search only to candidates

    with security clearance selected.

    NOTE: it may not be current or

    acve.

    Employment Type: Select as manyopons that apply to the role youre

    trying to ll. For best results, pick

    all of the opons that you can work

    with to prevent excluding the perfect

    candidate.

    Travel Preferences: Select the singlebest choice.

    Annual Salary and Hourly Rate: Youcan make mulple selecons from

    both the Annual and Hourly drop-downs. It is best to use one or the

    other or youll only see candidates

    who match both criteria.

    Minimum Educaon: Select theminimum level of educaon required

    in a candidate.

    School or Instuon: Search foralumni.

    TalentMatch Results

    Your default view will feature Acve and

    Passive candidates divided out on separate

    tabs. The results of any given tab can be

    sorted by Relevance, Locaon,Salary,

    Experience, or Posted Date.

    1. Refning Your Search: The parametersof your current search are listed in the

    column to the le of your search results.

    Clicking on the UNDO buon will remove

    that lter form your search and display

    more TalentMatch results automacally.

    2. If you opted for a Zip Code Radiussearch, you can increase or decrease

    the radius search to narrow or expand

    your search.

    3. Days Back: Use the drop-down menu to

    select the age of the resumes you wishto review.

    4. Further refne by clicking on the + signsbelow.

    5. Saving Your Search Creang aSearch Agent: In the le-hand Current

    Search column, select the Save Search

    as Agent buon.

    a. (boom right) You will be takento a page where you can name

    your search, as well as enable it to

    run automacally and email you

    the results.

    b. The default status is Enabled.You may have up to 20 search

    agents saved with up to 10

    enabled at any me. Search

    Agents can also be run manually.

    6. View an Individual Candidate: Open aresume by clicking on their underlined

    Desired Posion Title. This will take you

    to their personal contact informaon,

    prole and resume.

    Candidate Resume Management

    You will nd a list of possible acons in the

    upper right-hand side of the prole.

    1. Back to TalentMatch Search Results-returns you to the main search results

    page. Preferable to browsers back

    buon since it saves all of your resume

    management opons.

    2. Previous/Next Candidate takes youto the previous/next candidate in the

    search results.

    3. Save Candidate: Save a candidate to afolder for quick reference later. When

    you select Save Candidate, youll be

    presented with a list of folders youve

    created or the opon to create a new

    folder.

    Ifyou have found someone who is a

    t for more than one folder, click SaveCandidate again, pick the appropriate

    folder, and click Save to Selected. The

    candidate will now be in both folders.

    Accessthese folders at any me bygoing to Post Jobs & Find Candidates

    in your main toolbar, and selecng

    Candidate Folder from the drop-down.

    If the candidate removes his/her prole

    from TalentMatch (i.e. makes himself

    Unsearchable), he will automacally be

    removed from the candidate folder. A

    note will appear the rst subsequent

    me you access the folder to let youknow the candidate has been removed.

    4. Rate Candidate: Give the candidateprivate thumbs up or down. For the

    next 90 days, each me his/her name

    comes up in the TalentMatch search

    results, youll know at a glance whether

    you will want to take a closer look.

    5. Candidate Notes: You have up to 1.500characters to make any comments in

    this secon. These private comments

    will be visible only to you on the

    TalentMatch Search results page on

    future searches, without having to clickthrough to the actual prole.

    6. Email Candidate: Send an email directlyto the job seeker without leaving the

    Dice website. You have the opportunity

    to start with a previously-created

    template, or simply write the custom

    message you need. To save a newly

    created message as a new template,

    simply select Add This Message As a

    Template, and youll be walked through

    naming and saving it for later use.

    Thedefault Reply-To eld willprepopulate with your own address.

    7. Report Candidate: If you ndfraudulent informaon on a resume,

    click the link Report Candidate so wecan address it condenally.

    8. Route Resume: Send this resume toyourself.

    9. Talent Network: Gives you the oponto invite the candidate to your network

    from within the resume.
