Explore the inside of the Pearce/Helps Cabin, smell fresh baked goods from the wood-fired oven, watch live blacksmithing, and enjoy music and singing. what the dickens? victorian Carolers (11:00 am - 1 pm)Listen to the sweet sounds of Victorian Carolers along Washington Avenue while you shop and dine after the parades.

Newfoundland Cart rides (noon - 3 pm)Children will giggle and squeal as they enjoy free rides with these gentle giants. Pick up is at 12th and Arapahoe in the Foss parking lot. Donations accepted.

holiday hayrides (noon - 1 pm) The Golden Hayride will provide fun and festive hayrides around historic downtown Golden after the parades. $5 per person, kids under 5 free. Pick up will be on 12th Street by the Capitol Grill. 303-277-9222 or goldenhayride.com

Watch Santa zoom around in his sidecar motorcycle, heckle the Grinch as he drives by in his corvette, or cheer on elves as they race on unicycles during the weekly holiday parades. These old-fashioned holiday parades burst with Colorado charm and authentic holiday spirit and are a perfect free family-friendly holiday tradition. Listen to Victorian carolers and snappy barbershop quartets, admire antique fire trucks and hear the hoof beats of the prancing horses.

The parades travel down Washington Avenue in historic downtown Golden from 10th Street to 13th Street, starting at 11 a.m. Free parking and free community activities follow the parades. More information at goldencochamber.org.

be a tool 5k elf run (8:30 am) The holiday season kicks-off in Golden with the Be a Tool 5K Elf Run. The event includes a free pancake breakfast, reusable goodie bag with coupons to Golden shops and t-shirt for all participants. Proceeds benefit Golden’s Neighborhood Rehab Project. The Chamber presents Golden’s community Candlelight Walk on Washington Avenue. Join family and friends with candles in hand for the annual lighting of downtown Golden and Clear Creek. This year a special addition has been added to Golden’s most beloved tradition – fireworks! Fireworks will light the sky following the Candlelight Walk at 7:30 pm following the walk and holiday show. Candles and glow sticks will be on sale for $1 each at the Visitors Center starting Dec. 1 or onsite the night of at the corner of 13th and Washington or near Foothills Art Center. Gather at 6:00 pm at 15th and Arapahoe Streets, for pre-walk caroling, dancing, and community. Festive dress is encouraged. Below is a list of activities after the walk. All activities are free and open to the public.
