It is always great to invite parents into the school to share a morning and celebrate education. We have had a great deal of positive feedback – thank you! Thanks also to the parents who answered survey questions and gave us feedback and valuable information. Education Week Merit Awards English Taylah, Abby, Josie, Frank, Beatrix, Jada, Cedar and Hugo Mathematics Edward, Cooper L, Charlie O’B, Alexander, Matthew S, Poppy, Caitlyn and Georgia Science and Technology Matilda F, Sienna, Oscar, Oliver R and Makenzi HSIE Darcy, Billy Y, Matilda S, Patrick and Ava PDHPE Logan, Jack B, Fletcher, Oliver B, Hugh and Beau Creative Arts Kali, Honor, Emme, Evie and Amelia C State Athletics A few weeks ago five students from Canobolas public School travelled to Homebush representing Western Region to compete in the NSW state Athletics carnival. Will J ran in the 100m, Lucy M in the 800m, Hugh jumped in the high jump and Oli B and Ned ran in the junior boys relay. Lucy broke her personal best time and the junior boys relay team came 5 th . We are all very proud of their efforts, it’s a wonderful achievement to represent the entire Western Region of NSW. OSSA Music Concert Last Thursday we joined Borenore PS, Spring Terrace PS, Cargo PS and Mullion Ck PS for a combined concert at the Conservatorium. Our big band as well as our bucket band played very well. Many thanks to Donna Riles, Mrs Mickle and other OSSA Principals. Kindergarten 2019 Transition Next Wednesday is the final Kindergarten Orientation morning for our new families. New parents are invited to an information morning from 9.30. All existing as well as new Kindergarten parents are also invited to morning tea which will be at about 10.45. We have asked that the current Kindergarten families bring along a plate. OHS Transition Lab Last week was the final week of Orange High transition lab. Thank you very much to all the parents who transported students throughout the five weeks. Band Outstanding band accounts were sent home on Monday, could these accounts be finalised as soon as possible. Concert DVDs have arrived and were sent home this week. Thank you to Phil (Mrs Hunt’s brother) for putting these together for the school. Term 4: Week 6 – 21st November, 2018
