Recent Projects

MasTec

Florida Illinois Louisiana Oklahoma Texas Toronto Virginia…

• ISP NODE WIRING: Installation of all transmitters, receivers, passives and color-coded wiring between all services,

both forward and return. Included balancing of levels and deployment with the OSP department

• ISP NODE SEGMENTATION: Installation of all transmitters, receivers, passives and color-coded wiring between all

services, both forward and return. Maintenance window cutovers and service verification was included.

• FIBER OPTIC TRANSPORT: Installation, turn up and test and insertion of new Transport Nodes into existing Core

network rings. Insertion of CWDM equipment into Cellular backhaul rings to accommodate 3G and LTE network

upgrades. Installed, provisioned, tested and activated new 10G rings for overlay on existing rings using CWDM and

DWDM technologies. Upgrade software and hardware in existing Transport nodes, to accommodate growing traffic

requirements.

• INTERNET PHONE SERVICE: Installed routers with network fibers and cabling for new internet phone service in

multiple phubs. Project was completed ahead of schedule, allowing for extensive testing prior to full deployment.

• HEADEND RELIEF: Provided technical staff to cover headend routines during periods of increased workload by

operator’s staff.

• ANALOGUE TO DIGITAL UPGRADE: Managed design, installation and implementation of conversion to an all-

digital channel lineup for a major MSO’s primary Hub. This included preparation of all SOW’s and MOP’s, plus

scheduling of tickets and personnel for maintenance window changes.

Hybrid Fiber, Network Planning Audit and Design

© Copyright 2003, BIAC Broadband. All Rights Reserved.

Fiber Network Planning: The BIAC engineering team can analyse your current network topology and geographical coverage to establish a plan to best meet the bandwidth needs of current and future customers. Our team will determine the optimum route for the network to maximise access to potential customers and ensure that fibre is efficiently utilised and revenue is maximised.

Route Analysis: Given two or more nodes BIAC will establish various route options for connecting the nodes. For each proposed route the engineering team will address surface and soil conditions, potential interactions with utilities, estimated capital cost, estimated fibre loss budget, approximate metres of build, municipal and regional issues.

Fiber Route Design: Once the route is established BIAC will do a survey and a design for the placement of the fibre cable in the right-of-way. The design will meet all of the specification of the client, municipality/region and observe required offsets from other utilities.

Municipal approvals and Utilities Circulations: BIAC will circulate the proposed design to the utilities and work directly with the municipal and regional officials to obtain consent.

Construction Administration and Inspection: Our

professional team can provide supervision and inspection

for construction work in the right-of-way as well as the

splicing work including OTDR testing.
