Introduction Clearly Agile is a boutique consulting firm focused on providing disruptive tools to organizations responsible for large and complex software solutions. Unlike other Agile-Lean tools on the market, ours are centered around a single theme which is to provide quantifiable data for organizational leadership to attain insights and plans of action for immediate impact. While Federal agencies have made significant investment in transitioning from Waterfall to Agile-driven methodologies, some of these efforts have not maximized cost-cutting returns due to inconsistencies implementing Agile. While some have succeeded, many Agile coaching contractors have just not delivered in catalyzing successful federal transitions to Agile best practices. In some cases, the vendors are insufficient; in others, agency institutional barriers get in the way. The limits of training and coaching are clear, therefore Clearly Agile sought new ways to solve federal Agile / DevOps inefficiencies. Seeing the best and worst of Agile coaching, Clearly Agile decided to test a new path, namely tool-based support for software product development that uncovers process inefficiencies, provides solutions, and quantifies the results. No other tool like it exists on the market. With Clearly Agile, agencies can shift focus from projects to products. Lifecycle Sleuth The Lifecycle Sleuth is the most innovative find-and-fix business tool for Agile / DevOps communities on the market. Our patent-pending analysis engine goes beyond assessment by analyzing your current build, test, delivery, and release processes and provides immediate suggestions for improvements to real-time findings of financial cost, waste, risks, and opportunities for improvement. As an organizational transformation to Agile / DevOps requires years to realize and a huge investment, federal organizations can use the Lifecycle Sleuth to constantly provide high impact insights and lightweight resolutions. Launch software faster and realize a higher Return-on-Investment (ROI) with the Lifecycle Sleuth. Patented Technology – Waste, Opportunities for Improvement, and Risk Engine At the heart of the Lifecycle Sleuth is our patent-pending web-based application, Waste, Opportunities for Improvement, and Risk Engine (WORE), that analyzes any Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) of a given solution for optimization. The WORE provides real-time analysis based on data-driven rules influenced by Agile Principles & Values, Lean Thinking, eXtreme Programming (XP) values and techniques as well as DevOps concepts and practices like Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery / Deployment, Continuous Testing, and Continuous Monitoring.

Waste, Opportunities and Risk Engine [WORE]

A Disruptive Approach to Software Delivery Simply put, the WORE is a revolutionary tool for organizations seeking to adopt a true Agile / DevOps SDLC because it removes much of the judgement and biases from people responsible to optimize lifecycle’s processes. There is no other tool that systemically provides opinions and considerations for SDLC activities as well as those missing or likely sequenced improperly into an actionable plan. Because of the tool’s uniqueness, we have loosely coupled the WORE service from the Lifecycle Sleuth so that organizations have an opportunity to exploit it with their own software lifecycles, frameworks, approaches, etc. Currently, for an SDLC, the WORE can identify over 600 risks and over 1,000 opportunities for improvement, and that figure continues to increase as our Agilists and developers continually identify and incorporate logic for no additional cost to clients. As new tools, processes, rules, regulations, and industry best practices emerge, our team of experts on the frontlines are there to identify, document, and incorporate into the WORE. Clients Benefit When Software Engineers Benefit Software engineers appreciate the Lifecycle Sleuth because it helps eliminate, automate, and reduce the non-coding activities like testing, delivering, and releasing. These non-coding activities can absorb 54% of their time, representing significant potential waste.1 With the Lifecycle Sleuth, software engineers can refocus on coding, streamlining their work and focusing on what they’re good at. Agencies save money and receive software products faster, and engineers experience increased job satisfaction. Win-win.

Complement to Agile / DevOps Coaching Agile and DevOps coaches are empowered by the Lifecycle Sleuth as they are finally have dashboards and reports necessary to help organizations more quickly deliver highly reliable and compliant software solutions.

Assessments The key to Agile or DevOps is identifying the issues, inefficiencies, and influences that affect culture, processes, and tools. Our assessment framework encompasses people, processes, and tools across the enterprise so that client organizations have a comprehensive view into the status of their organization as well as identifying opportunities for improvement. Clearly Agile can provide an actionable plan within days to help federal organizations close gaps between current performance and future goals. Clearly Agile serves as an objective party with no preconceived notions, as each agency represents a unique situation. We base our approach from principles and values, engineering practices, and deployment throughput. From this perspective, Clearly Agile can identify risks, issues, and opportunities for improvement across the enterprise.

Transformations Clearly Agile personnel have transformation experience across numerous highly regulated organizations and industries such as federal government, defense, health, telecommunication, energy, banking, and transportation. Clearly Agile has a defined approach for delivering Agile transformations, but recognize each agency has its own unique situation, circumstances, and priorities. We collaborate with the client to set expectations and tailor a plan to achieve a successful transformation without compromising leadership priorities and external requirements. After a quick but rigorous assessment, Clearly Agile will collaborate with the appropriate leadership and stakeholders to develop a transformation plan, execute upon it, and measure success along the way. The immediate goal is to empower leadership and stakeholders to influence positive change in culture, processes, and tools.

Throughout the transformation journey, Clearly Agile collaborates on the measures and metrics to recognize opportunities for improvement, and installs processes, tools, and skills to positively influence this change. The final goal is for the client organization to have the capability for continuing transformation without Clearly Agile, as that is the true measure of an Agile organization.

Coaching Clearly Agile has the ideal enterprise, team, and engineering coaches for large heavily regulated organizations like government, defense, health, telecommunication, banking, and transportation. Our coaches know more than theory – they understand your typical constraints and culture.
