Brolton group came to us with a very complexco-ordination task of verifying the design withthe as-built. Highly irregular shot-crete walls ina 60m vertical shaft were laser-scanned to helpus report individual steel arm lengths from ourco-ordinated cloud point model, ensuring thefabricated steel would be made to fit in thisvery tight mechanical riser space. While wewere at it we verified the final bolt locationsjust hours before drilling on-site."

The MIARA project was all about updating/replacingold run-down structures and increasing the capacityof water flow to the farmers from the Murrumbidgee.our task - detail over 85km of canal using our z-boatfor the water aspect of the project, GPS and totalstation systems for the land-based survey. Wedetailed 300+ structures, a massive undertaking,completed on time and budget too! After receivingthe final design, we spent the next 6 months settingout the build, finishing just in time for the localfarmers dry season when the irrigation network ismost in need.

A large-scale road upgrade with kilometres ofknown and unknown services - Our mostchallenging task is prioritising relocation andsequenced installation. We worked closelywith the engineering teams to generatepractical solutions for road design clasheswith new and existing utilities, all within theproject’s needs & budget. Our managed teamof surveyor’s experience of 3D utility modelling& technology handled the civil setout, Work AsExecuted drawings & traffic switches with onesurveyor dedicated to DBYD drawings, permitto penetrate updates & services redesign.

A need to build a new landing ramp when youcan't see underwater, let alone accurately co-ordinate design or fabrication OR installation,calls for our z-boat! Our Hydrographic vessel(z-boat) used its depth sounder to map the seafloor around the to-be-demolished ramp, givingan accurate reference for the design of thenew ramp, ballast and piles. Next we provided3D machine guidance files for excavation andguided pile installation with <20mm tolerance.Finally, QA had us popping the z-boat in againto capture as-built positions and a set ofdrawings along with it. Sorted!
