At Rimfire Group, our core focus is to understand our customers energy objectives and provide effective solutions to achieve these objectives.

Rimfire Group is a multi-disciplinary group of companies servicing the full spectrum of the electricity industry in the Northern Territory.

Rimfire Group has been established in an environment created by a strong government focus on deregulation for competition resulting in the Group establishing electricity retailing, solar installations, project development and electricity generation capabilities. Rimfire Group operates from offices in Darwin and Brisbane, and also operates from an established warehouse/office in Darwin.

About Rimfire Group

RIMFIRE ENERGY

is the group’s licenced retail electricity sales business and is the largest non-government electricity retailer in the Northern Territory. Rimfire Energy established NT retail operations in 2014, and with more than 50 years of relevant electricity industry experience Rimfire Energy’s team provides a competitive and commercial alternative for the supply of electricity through offering competitive prices on negotiated commercial terms delivered through high quality customer service.

Rimfire Energy Pty Ltd has been pivotal in bringing competition to the recently de-regulated NT market helping many clients to reduce their electricity costs.

RIMFIRE PROJECTS

has been established to provide project development and delivery services.

As a licenced electrical contractor (C3918) the Rimfire Projects team has extensive experience in embedded generation systems and commercial scale solar PV installations across Australia.

Rimfire Group also has strong working relationships with all relevant government corporations, and has specific, relevant experience with Power and Water Corporation with respect to connection of solar PV installations on the Northern Territory networks.

WARWICK LYON General Manager of Retail Warwick brings more than 25 years of experience to Rimfire Group, including as the founding CFO a tier one electricity company, where Warwick played a key role in the establishment and operation of all aspects of the business, including governance, corporate policy, strategy, systems design, operational processes, risk management, finance, treasury, accounting, reporting and compliance.

MICHAEL ALLEN Managing Director Michael brings more than 25 years of experience to Rimfire Group, including as the former Executive General Manager Finance & CFO for a tier one electricity company operating in the National Electricity Market. Prior to this, Michael held a variety of senior positions representing developers and banks across energy, resources and industry.

DAMIAN ISTRIA Group Business Analyst Damian brings more than 6 years of experience working within the infrastructure sector, most recently at Brisbane Airport Corporation working in both Finance and Operations departments. Damian’s responsibilities included financial and asset utilisation analysis and modelling, corporate treasury functions, contract management, and key relationship management with lenders and rating agencies.

ALEX CHOY Finance & Operations Manager

Alex brings more than 35 years of electricity industry experience to the Group. Prior to joining Rimfire Alex commenced in the industry with Energex, where he was involved in a wide variety of functions across both the electricity network and electricity retail businesses where he played an integral role in developing and establishing systems and processes during the initial phases of deregulation of the electricity industry.

MARIA IGLESIAS Finance Officer

Maria has worked more than 10 years in accounting in both chartered accounting and corporate environments. Maria brings to Rimfire Group experience covering finance and management reporting, payroll and accounts payable/receivable in industries including utilities, tech startups and healthcare. Maria’s experience covering different industries and including startups, supports Rimfire Group’s diverse and fast growing business.

The extensive relevant experience of Rimfire Group employees across the required tasks of electricity market participation means Rimfire Group is well placed to deliver on customer expectations. Rimfire Group employees have been selected based on their experience, capabilities and proven track record.

JOELLE APPLEBY Sales & Marketing Officer Joelle brings more than 12 years of customer focused sales experience to Rimfire Group, most recently as the Business Development Representative for the Housing Industry Association in Darwin. Joelle’s customer communication skills and strong relationship management experience in business-to-business environments supports Rimfire Group’s commitment to customer focus and long-term relationship building.

KIM HOWLETT General Manager of Development Kim brings more than 23 years of power generation experience to Rimfire Group, most recently as the Regional Manager for QLD, NT & PNG overseeing a sales, engineering and delivery team for the design and commissioning of numerous power generation systems across the region.

The extensive relevant experience of Rimfire Group employees across the required tasks of power project development and operation means Rimfire Group is well placed to deliver power projects of any scale. Rimfire Group employees have been selected based on their experience, capabilities and proven track record.

Rimfire Projects Team

DAWN PAYNE Business Development Manager Dawn brings more than 9 years of sales experience to Rimfire Group, most recently as the Commercial Sales Manager for Australia’s largest independent suppliers of commercial solar energy and power cost saving technology.

CHRIS THOMSON General Manager of Renewables Chris brings 26 years of power generation experience, most recently as Operations Director of one of Australia’s largest solar PV installations companies where he was responsible for renewable energy system design, procurement, installation and commissioning of a combined total of 35MW of installed solar systems across Australia. Chris was responsible for several commercial scale solar PV systems for large corporations around Australia, including several MW of installations within the Northern Territory.

JULIE DE-BRENNEL-BOURNE Project Administrator

Julie brings more than 10 years of project administration experience to Rimfire Group, most recently as the Infrastructure Adviser for Energy Resources of Australia (Rio Tinto) with responsibilities for administration and contract management of maintenance and upgrade projects. Julie’s experience and proven track-record in the safe delivery and effective management of contracts in the infrastructure sector supports Rimfire’s commitment to exceptional project delivery.
