Conector de Fibra ptica
SC Connector
El BODYaloja el ferrule que asegura que la fibra est en su lugar.
El FERRULE es un pequeo cilindro en donde la fibra es montada y acta demecanismo de alineacin de la fibra.
El extremo de la fibra se ubica en el extremo de la ferrule.
La fibra comprende dos vidrios: el CLADDINGy el CORE.
El CLADDINGes una capa de vidrio rodeando al core, que previene que seescape la seal del core.
El COREes la capa central crtica de la fibra y el conducto de paso de la luz.

Los conectores de fibra tienen que tener una muy extrema toleranciapara lograr una
muy baja prdida de conexin.
Para lograr esto, debe manejarse y acoplarse correctamente.

Ilustracin de la migracin de una partcula
Cada vez que se acopla el conector, las partculas alrededor del core son desplazadas, causandoque ellas migren y se desparramen sobre la superficie de la fibra.
Particulas que son mayores de 5m, usualmente explotan y se generan multiples partculasadheridas.
Grandes partculas pueden crear barreras de aire (air gaps) que perjudican el contacto fsico.
Partculas menores de 5m tienden a juntarse sobre la superficie de la Fibra creando picaduras(pits) y virutas de fabricacin (chips).

La suciedad daa las fibras
Una vez que esas partculasembebidas al ncleo se remueven, picaduras(pits) yvirutas(chips) permanecen en la fibra.
Estas picaduras en el vidrio (pits)pueden tambin afectar la transmisin de laluz, causando reflexin hacia atrs, Prdida de Inserccin baja y daos a otroscomponentes de red.
Muchosconectores no son inspeccionados hastadetectar el problema. Esto hace que posteriormente el dao sea permanente.
La unin de conectores suciosincrusta las partculas de suciedaden la fibra.

En donde est la suciedad?En todas partes.
Al transportar la fibra, en las manos, ropas, en elprotector del conector, en el adaptador conectadoal conector, en los equipos de prueba, etc.
La partcula de suciedad promedio vara entre 2 a5m,la cual no es visible al ojo humano.
Una partcula individual de polvo puede ser unproblema importante cuando se incrusta en o cercadel ncleo de la fibra.
Incluso un conector completamente nuevo puedeestar sucio.
Tapones de plstico protegen la cara del extremode la fibra, pero tambin pueden ser una fuente decontaminacin.
Microscopios de inspeccin de fibra le darn unaidea clara de los problemas que est enfrentando.
Su mayor problema est frente suyopero no lo pods ver!
La suciedad est en todos lados!

Inspeccione y limpie ambos lados de la conexin
La inspeccin de ambos extremos de la conexin es la nica forma de asegurar que
estar libre de contaminacin y defectos.
Los patchcord son facil de accesar y y de ver comparado comparada con la fibra que estdentro del bulkhead, el cual a menudo es no testeado.
Si bin el lado del Bulkhead es solamente la mitad de la conexin, es la que normalmenteofrece mas suciedad y problemas.

Inspeccin Proactiva:
Inspeccionar visualmente losconectores de fibra en todas las etapasde manejo antes de juntarlas.
Los conectores son mucho msfciles de limpiar antes de conectarlos,para evitar incorporar los desechos en la
fibra.
Inspeccin reactiva:
Inspeccionar visualmentelos conectoresde fibra DESPUSde que se descubri elproblema , por lo general durante elTrobleshooting.
Por este tiempo, conectores y otrosequipos pueden haber sufrido daos
