SUBJECTS SELECTED

Product design based on ergonomics for the prevention of carpal tunnel syndrome

1. CAUSE OF CARPAL TUNNEL SYN-DROME

Healthy peo-ple

Patients with carpal tunnel syndrome

1. CAUSE OF CARPAL TUNNEL SYN-DROME

If you use a long time hand in an

inappropriate position, to give the stress on

the wrist joint

carpal tunnel syn-drome

Symptoms of carpal tunnel syn-drome

2. INSPECTION PROCEDURES

1) Test method determines a photograph that is deformed to the wrist portion with the X-ray measuring method is basic in Orthopaedic.

2) I suspect the symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome wrist is coming up a little inflated.

3) It was concluded that it is selected subjects found symp-toms of carpal tunnel syndrome, the test subjects of these, make the products.

3. FINDING A DOCTOR① Carpal tunnel syndrome occurs when it has remained while the abnormal conditions which are also referred to as carpal tunnel syndrome, it is part of the wrist is not the function of the musculoskeletal original.

② Carpal tunnel syndrome is caused carpal tun-nel, that is the wall of the blood vessels in the wrist region is not beautiful, blood does not turn, carpal tunnel becomes increasingly thick

③ And thus the surrounding muscle does not work gradually median nerve is pressed due to swelling of the ligaments of the wrist, you would not go, but you will be passing the power on the wrist this. I made that a situation like this is to be sustained, carpal tunnel syndrome may oc-cur.

4. MANUFACTURING PROCESS OF THE PROTOTYPE

1. Prepare a pad to put under it plaster bandage, cut into such a manner as to fit on the wrist of the subject.

4. MANUFACTURING PROCESS OF THE PROTO-TYPE

2. Thereby mounted a round plaster mold rollers circular and made a fitting frame on the wrist of the subject with a plaster, is mounted on the bottom.

4. MANUFACTURING PROCESS OF THE PROTO-TYPE

3. Roller area of the lower part of the plaster mold of the wrist is complete, It with both, to override the soft pad on it.

4. MANUFACTURING PROCESS OF THE PROTO-TYPE

4. I try to apply to the user the prototype was completed.

5. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION OF CAPSTONE DESIGN EXECUTION Execution result 1. Deformation using the easy gypsum, I produce a frame

that matches the wrist of a user.

2. The use of a roller 360° rotatable circular to reduce the force on the wrist

3. To minimize the hostility to the skin, and covered with a soft latex material.

6. PROBLEMS AND IMPROVEMENTS IN THE FUTURE On to manufacture the product, it was trial and error many times.

1. Effect is not very good if you try to create a low cost in terms of price

2. If you try to create and to maximize the effect, practical application it is difficult to price of the product is too expensive

3. If we consider only functional effect, various problems in many cases.

Use of gypsum were simultaneously considering aspects of price and ef -fective, it also was not a satisfactory result.

It is necessary to study the materials and manufacturing methods to be improved as viewed thinking little material portable used in the human body.
