• Custom Configurations: We offer gas-fired, electrically-heated, direct-fired, or indirect-fired with recirculating fans. Engineered to the highest quality standards, our furnaces meet rigid temperature uniformity requirements and solid operational reliability.

• Steel Construction: Our furnaces incorporate heavy steel construction designed to provide years of trouble-free operation. Furnace shells are typically ¼" Hot Rolled A-36 Steel bolstered with heavy-wall rectangular tubing. The furnace face has a finger jointed ½" steel plate surface for the door to seal properly.

• Refractory Lining: Each furnace utilizes castable refractory linings as well as high-insulating ceramic fiber modules. We carefully and systematically cure the refractory linings to ensure the product is ready to be used at delivery. The furnace can feature a full spectrum of refractory products including dense castable, insulating castable, ceramic fiber, or brick- depending on the customer application.

• Integrated Controls: The controls are equipped with U.L. classified panels, incorporating either PLC or P.I.D. (Proportional, Integral, Derivative) digital controls. Each panel utilizes a Factory Mutual (FM) approved Flame Supervision System that automatically ignites the burners on low fire and ensures a “lock out” in the unlikely event of a flame failure. Our furnaces incorporate multiple interlocks such as high/low gas pressure switches, high temperature interlock, air proving switches, door proximity switches, and more. 

• Combustion/Electric Element Heating systems: Our furnaces can be gas fired or electrically heated. Electrically heated units utilize a SCR distribution of current to the elements, providing proportional control of the heating load. A furnace configured as gas-fired utilizes FM approved burners and fuel trains, including medium and high velocity firing tubes available in alloy or silicon carbide. 

• Drawings, Installation, and Operating Instructions: All furnaces are supplied with a complete CAD generated General Arrangement Drawing as well as an instruction manual (digital and hard copy.)

• Door Mechanism and Sealing: The car bottom furnace can be fitted with a door that is affixed to the mobile car-bottom, or alternatively, a guillotine-type door for applications where customers require doors on both ends of the furnace. The doors seal against a slotted ½" thick steel plate on the front of the furnace that is recessed back from the opening. Our door design provides a positive seal that prevents leakage and promotes uniformity near the front of the furnace. The guillotine type doors are counterweighted and pneumatically or mechanically actuated depending on the size of the door.

• Car Bottom Mechanism and Track: The car bottom furnace utilizes “live axles” riding on massive pillow blocks/bearings. The wheels are solid steel with a flange to eliminate drift on the track. The car-bottom is driven with a speed reduction gearbox transmitted to a chain and sprocket arrangement. The speed can be adjusted with a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) to suit customer requirements. The bottom "seals" inside the Furnace via pneumatic bumpers that engage when it has completed its travel. We provide a standard railroad rail with a detailed engineering drawing for installation purposes.
