How does a guy from Detroit fall in love with a 2012 BMW 135? That’s an

easy question for James Domal-ski to answer. “I have wanted this car since it came out. A powerful motor in a light car with decent suspension... a fun little ride.”

The Motor City born Domalski is the quintessential car guy. “My daily life always involves my car

and cars in general.” Muscle, import or exotic, Domalski finds love for them all. Growing up in the car culture made famous by Ford, GM and Chrysler, Domalski easily recalls summers with at least a “dozen car shows to go to everyday within 30 miles.”

While the car scene in Detroit is larger and more domestic based, Domalski appreciates

the diversity he sees on Las Vegas Valley roads, including his own 135. “In this town you can see any type of car from mild to exotic. My car is light and powerful [and] it surprises many peo-ple.”

Domalski remembers the day his custom or-dered BMW arrived from Germany. June 29th 2011. James began modifying his 135 as soon as he could. “I had a downpipe, upgraded in-tercooler, and a JB4 tuning cable that I got on group buys on the internet before the car was here. I waited until I put a tankful of gas through it, then I modified it.” After that, James went to town.

The car has the wide body panels from a BMW 1M installed. “I wanted a 1M when they came out but they didn’t come in blue or with a DCT”. Rounding out the body are a Seibon GTR vented carbon fiber hood, ICarbon trunk, and carbon fiber side skirts, chin spoiler and rear diffuser. ONEighty° in NYC provided the custom HID headlights.

The 135 is tuned to put down 407whp and 440wtq. Power is augmented by a 4 inch down-pipe, custom 3 inch quad exhaust with body color tips provided by Virtual Works Racing, and a JB4 tune. Thanks to the wide body, he’s able to fit 18 X 9.5 inch Apex EC7’s in the front with 18 X 10.5’s in the rear.

“I had a downpipe, upgraded intercooler, and a JB4 tuning cable that I got on group buys on the internet before the car was here...”

Domalski and the 135 roll with the Las Vegas car club, Eu-rosquad. This close-knit group of euro enthusiasts provides Domalski with a crew to com-pete with. “It’s mostly BMWs, a few Audis and Porsches. We travel to many car shows and race tracks in California as well as the local Vegas scene.”James has some big plans in

store for his 135. Soon, the car will have a Garrett GTX3076 turbo and he’ll shoot for over 500whp. He’s also looking at purchasing HRE S101 3 piece wheels and a custom LSD from VAC Motorsports to help put that power to the ground.

Plan on seeing James quite a bit this year. “I hope to be in

many more car shows…from Bimmerfest, Mfest and SEMA again like I was this year”, he says, “but hope to have a bet-ter spot next year and a spon-sored spot inside”. You may also catch him at the drag strip or roadcourse this year as he plans to add that to his list of activities.

“I hope to be in many more car shows…from Bimmerfest, Mfest and SEMA again like I was this year”

To say that Japanese Imports are a staple in Nicholas Terrey’s life is a little bit of an understatement. Work for

Nic is at Findlay Acura, working in the parts department. If there were any part that was ever needed for an Acura or Honda, it would be found here. He spends his day around imports all day long. When he goes home to the family, it’s the imports all over again with his brother Mike by his side who has always been there for Nicholas and his love for his Hondas from the beginning.

Nic is a local now, but hasn’t always been. Born in Washington state, his stepfather started introducing Nic to the import scene at a young age. His stepfather was a Honda master technician. Everything from maintenance to motor swaps Nic found fascinating and was itching to get a very first Honda of his own. When the family moved to San Diego, it was really the time for Nic to get involved in Hondas.

His very first Honda was an EG. He took advantage of living in Southern California. The California car culture was on a whole different level. There were modified cars and competition everywhere he turned. So it was only natural when Nic started to have an affinity toward building his own car. He joined his brother Mike who had an EG hatch of his own. Together, the duo was part of a club called SD Vengeance. Years of the import scene took a toll on Mike when he finally decided the time had come to move on and out of the Honda scene. But Nic had been there through the years of his brother’s green EG hatch and Nic didn’t want to see it leave the family. He decided to sell his own red EG and take on his brother’s to prove what his years in the Honda scene could produce.

A fully built B16 motor with Crower rods and Pistons, AEM cam gears, and Blox titanium springs has the internals all covered. A Garrett T3/T4 turbo in conjunction with custom turbo piping brings this ride to 363HP and 285FPT. The perks in this car includes keeping all the desert dwelling necessities like power steering, cruise control, and the blessings of A/C. The interior was envisioned and designed with specifics to detail. Custom carbon fiber gauge bezels, made by Findlay Customs hold his AEM oil pressure and AEM boost gauge. S2000 seats keep Nic held comfortably in place with Bride door panels and arm rests to rest upon. Genuine JDM parts flow on the interior from the JDM amber clock and climate control, to his JDM Integra Type R steering wheel, even down to the JDM longer center armrest. The exterior is a head turner even if you didn’t know anything about about Hondas. But ask a devout EG addict and they can tell you every single piece of the exterior took time to track down, and took lots of effort to put together. Rare JDM parts like the hood, window, and sunroof visors would look like any other parts unless you knew what you were looking for.

Is Nic happy? Of course. There will always be change though. Ask any other enthusiast and they’ll tell you they are never completely satisfied with a project. This ‘93 Civic Si was started as work between the two brothers and local Vegas shops. This build wasn’t going to be like anybody’s regular old daily. Over 5 years of hard work and dedication brought the car to how you see it today.

Through all the years, the ups and downs, family has stayed faithful to Nic. He thanks his brother Mike for seeing the potential in the build that he wanted to produce. He also thanks the love of his life Christine for “putting up with the car stuff”. In the enthusiast world Nic wishes to thank Mort from HondaTronics, Jared from HondDoctors, Denis and LDL, Jomel from Findlay Toyota, and the many Findlay import dealerships.

Imagine a gathering of people who shares in a common interest of good tunes, good vibes, and a good time. That’s what The Hard Rock Cafe on the Las Vegas Strip offers; one Tuesday night every month.

Welcome to the Tuesday Blend Project.

You know you’re in for a good time when you show up early and there’s already a line leading into the venue. The wait is worth it however when you make your way up and listen to the DJ spinning high energy music. You’ll hear anything from old school hip-hop to new chart topping hits, of course, with a special touch from the given DJ. Just as the crowd gets going the live performances start.

The Tuesday Blend Project brings together artists, dancers, and musicians to showcase a talent you would only see on tv or in the movies. Both local and non-local performers give it their all in a powerful show of talent. High energy dancing you’d see on Step Up or America’s Best Dance Crew can be found in every corner of the venue, not only on stage. The eager crowd soaks in a show that could only be explained if you were there. The venue is open to 18 and older with a huge bar area for those 21 and over. If you need a breath of fresh air, feel free to make your way to the huge balcony area where local vendors offer opportunities to purchase goods such as vapes from Vape Street, clothing from Hippo Esthetics, and even brush up on your kendama skills with Kendama Las Vegas.

The Tuesday Blend Project takes a chunk of everything and mixes it perfectly to create the ultimate night showcasing the love for dance, love for music, and love for art. Welcome to the scene and lifestyle that only adds to our city of Las Vegas; The Live Entertainment Capital of the World.

A car club in it to maintain thehonor of the Las Vegas car scene.

The main goal of the Knights as a club is to

represent the Las Vegas car scene. The Knights

Car Club is more than a club; it’s family. Everyone

from enlisted military to business owners and high

school students bring this circle of 28 members

together. The idea was to bring like-minded individuals

together to convey their passion for their car, regardless

of the make or model.

Together, the Knights are a family first and car club

second. They count on each other for help if an issue

ever arises, whether it be an issue with one of their cars

or if someone just needs a shoulder to lean on.

In this family each new member is bound to a few

guidelines to keep a positive reputation within the Las

Vegas community. Members are encouraged to better

their cars with each event. It’s also strongly encouraged

to add a modification to their car as often as possible.

All members take great pride in representing their team

and cars at shows, races, meets and events and have

won many awards for their hard work.

Enjoying life, giving back to the community, and

keeping the Vegas scene in a positive light is what

keeps the Knights together. With high morals and a high

code of conduct; be on guard for the Knights.

Young lady, Emily Spiller knew that with joining the Knights, her life would never be the same. When she came

to find out the history of her current car, a ‘99 Integra GSR which she purchased from President of the Knight’s Donnie Beale, she knew in her heart of hearts that she made the right decision. Let’s tell you the life story of this blast from the past.Donnie Beale took on this shell of a project from the first owner and one hell of a story. It’s the turn of the century (literally) at the peak of the Fast and Furious days and the first owner was living the life, when un-fortunately it came to an end (NOOOO MONICAAAA!). While bending over to tie his shoe, with his keys in his pocket, he ac-cidentally triggered the remote start while the car was in gear and it drove fast and furious across the street and into the side of building, thoroughly wrecking the front end. To top it off, the next day when he went to

retrieve his car from the towing yard, what better than to find the motor and transmis-sion completely gone. Fast forward 10 years, new owner Donnie is piecing back together what this Integra was supposed to be, a piece of history from our enthusiast lifestyle. Almost all of the new parts of the Integra, came from a Type R. He also color matched the unique paint from the previous owner keeping the Fast and Furious look intact. But when Donnie felt it was time to let the car go, he knew he found the right buyer.Emily comes from the new generation of enthusiasts, with little to no body kits, toned down paint jobs, ridiculously high horse-power. She also knows that the beginning of “The Fast and the Furious” era made cars what they are today and a lot of us would not be here without it. She proudly steps up to the plate of owning this machine.

As President of the Knights Car Club, Donnie Beale had high standards to uphold. He brings maturity, structure and guidance to the team. He chose the 2005 Subaru WRX STi with the help of his son. The STi was a car his son always admired, and what better way to keep the family involved than picking up a new project for some father and son bonding. Donnie came to realize however that this Sti wasn’t only a project, but a staple in the Knights rep-ertoire. The STi represents the racing aspect of the Knights and what struc-ture, goals, and dedication can help you achieve.Powering the STi is a fully built mo-tor currently on E85 making 510WHP

tuned by Shawn Church. It competes at The Drag Strip at LVMS, and at auto-cross with either Donnie or his son be-hind the wheel. When the car isn’t haul-ing down the track, you will certainly notice it at car shows. As a show car, it has placed 1st in the Turbo Modified category at 2013 Subie Invasion and 1st at 2014 CES Car Show in the Best Special Interest category among other awards. You might have even seen the STi in Top Gear BBC on episode 2 of season 19.What we do know is that Donnie Beale and his car are influencing the Vegas scene in a positive light. For show or play, the man and his car are here to stay.

With Vee MendozaLadies Rides

girlpower!Story Jasmine Tamimi | Photos Lauder Corea & Eric Hall

Here at Carbon Au-tomotive Lifestyle magazine, we pride

ourselves in representing a wide variety of car enthu-siasts from all over the Las Vegas area. Most of the peo-ple we feature tend to range anywhere from young ad-olescents to even the mid-dle-aged. It always comes as a surprise, however, when we chance upon an individual with an interest in cars so great that her entire family is in on the fun. That same indi-

vidual would be 33-year-old Vee Mendoza.

Working part-time in real es-tate alongside her boyfriend, she also happens to have a full-time position as a busy mom. When she doesn’t have her hands full taking care of her family, however, Mendoza is admiring her 2006 Mus-tang GT. Having always been infatuated with muscle cars, she got her first car (a 1998 black Mustang) as a gradua-tion present from her dad.

From there, she would eventually tune-up her car and attend meets in the hopes of finding others who shared her love for mus-cle cars. When Mendoza decided it was time to settle down and start a family, her Mus-tang unfortunately followed suit.

About a year ago, however, she came across what would become her current love-child: The aforementioned 2006 Mustang GT. Be-ing her very first Drag vehicle, she spared no expense customizing it to her liking. From a custom Cervini’s Body Kit and Headers to an installed Cold Air Intake and Exhaust, her Mustang became the embodiment of her dream car. Sufficed to say, she wasn’t the

only one pleased with the roar of her V8 en-gine. Her kids all love riding inside their cool new car and she is very fortunate to have a boyfriend who loves muscle cars as much as she does.

Although she plans on tuning up her car a bit more towards speed, Mendoza is just as hap-py taking her car to show. Despite constantly being busy with work and her family, she is content enough simply knowing that she is the owner of such a beautiful car. Nowadays, when she does have time to spare, you can find Mendoza at the Cars and Coffee meet, Las Vegas Motor Speedway, or more likely, tuning herself up at the gym.

Autocross event of the year to kick off the 2014 season. He’s been hooked ever since, and so has his awesome girlfriend Lani. She knew how much this car meant to him and only wanted to continue in developing his project into a force to be reckoned with. It’s that (sometimes) wonderful time of year for a couple, an anniversary. A time when most people spend money on things like flowers, chocolates, or vacations. This girlfriend went against the norm. Rather than the spend the money on herself, Lani would rather invest the money on aesthetics, aerodynamics, and longevity. Meet the newest addition to the Project be:Calm artillery. Not only cosmetically appealing, the carbon fiber APR Performance Vortex Generator for the Evolution X is the first step in the right direction toward aerodynamic performance. The APR Vortex Generator helps guide the airflow on cars with very steep drop-off angles between the roof and the rear window i.e. 2014 Evo X. Whether on the streets, on the freeway, or at the Bullring at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, airflow has a tendency to become choppy as it separates from the surface of the car in this area; the spot where the roof ends and the back windshield begins. This choppy air causes drag and reduces the effectiveness of a rear wing. The APR Vortex Generator helps to reduce drag and improve the effectiveness of the rear wing by delaying the air flow separation and reducing turbulence. In layman’s terms: less drag, more fast. Why carbon fiber? Why not an ABS reinforced plastic vortex generator? Carbon fiber is stronger, lighter, and more scratch resistant. Carbon fiber is the epitome of high performance and high quality.

Stay tuned for what happens next with Project be:CALM in Carbon Automotive Lifestyle Magazine’s April issue!

We learned the story of a lady and her ride last issue, now tell us more about yourself:

I was born on Easter of ‘91 here in Las Vegas. I grew up listening to Led Zepplin, Black Sabbath, Megadeth etc..[WHAT?!] Haha, yeah. I really love all music though and always have something playing at home or inthe Evo.

Favorite TV show?: The Walking Dead and Workaholics.

Any interesting hobbies?: I just moved into a new house so I’ve been painting and doing crafty projects to decorate my house. I love going to yard sales! So nerdy, but it’s seriously so much fun for me. I love playing soccer and going to car meets and car shows too

Favorite food: Country fried chicken and Ben & Jerry’s Cherry Garcia ice cream. BUT! I recently got a juicer so I like to go grocery shopping for fruits and veggies to make yummy juices.

Biggest pet peeve: Backseat drivers.

Worst Job: Hotel front desk! I loved the people I worked with, but I am not cut out for the hotel biz. What’s your car history?: Oh, it’s a long one. The first car I had was a red F150 and I was a badass, haha. Then I got a Kia Soul and put 30,000 on it in less than a year...traded that in for a 2012 Scion TC – I LOVED that thing. Now I have a 2014 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution MR, baby!

Dream Car: Well I have more than 1.. a girl can dream, right?! Toyota FT-1, Porsche Carrera GT, BMW M6 Gran Coupe.

Things you want to accomplish: To live in a house where I can see the beach from my backyard.

3 words that best describe you: Spontaneous, Fierce, Genuine.

... SWEET GIRL WITH A KICK

Y ou can’t think Europe-an car without thinking Audi. Leo Alexandre

knew that the 2009 Audi A4 was the perfect platform to show what Eurotek Tuning has to offer their customers. It’s hard to miss the wonderfully blacked out A4 with blacked out front grille, taillights, and tint. Crafted Rotiform 20’’ wheels go hand in hand with the Euro. Keeping the ride of the A4 luxurious, but street ready, was all in the foot-

works. Tailored specifically to the A4, KW ST coilovers was the perfect balance between optimal performance and ride comfort. What really sets this Audi apart from the rest is the attention to detail under the hood; and Eurotek Tuning has shown just that.

A definite hardware upgrade was necessary for the APR stage 2+ tune. What was involved in the stage 2+ tune you ask? The APR Carbonio

intake, made of carbon fiber, was designed to remove in-take restriction, which makes for increased throttle re-sponse, and reduced turbo spooling time. Add to that an upgraded Wagner Tuning FMIC, and Eurocode downpipe to complete the stage2+ tune.

The A4 was a work of dedi-cation and hard work; some-thing that Eurotek Tuning pursues with every build.
