ABOUT US

Cardinal Gates has been dedicated to making homes safer since 1993. Over the years, the company has expanded from the original metal-backed Hearth Guard to a full line of gates and safety products for children and pets. We strongly believe our gates are the best on the market in terms of safety, ease of installation, attractiveness and durability.

We produce the only aluminum gates on the market, which are light weight and able to weather the elements for exterior use. Many of our gates are constructed entirely

of metal [no plastic parts] for additional strength and durability.

We design our products and own a variety of patents on our gates and safety pad. These products are carefully inspected by hand in Newnan, Georgia. This ensures that each gate meets our exceptionally high standards before we ship them out—we want them to reach their destination in as perfect condition as possible.

Additionally, all of our gates are rigorously tested to earn the seal of certification by the Juvenile Protection Manufacturers Association.

First off, thank you for being a part of Cardinal Gates’ 20 years of history. Inspired by a grandfather’s desire to make his home safer when his grandchildren visited, we’re now a company with a full line of gates and safety products. Through it all, Cardinal has stayed true to its core beliefs: quality products, great service, and a determination to bring unique, useful safety items to the market. Whether you are purchasing gates for your child or your pet, you want the best. We are here to provide that for you.

Cardinal Gates first opened the doors in 1993 with the patented metal-backed Hearth Guard. Gates followed in 1997. Over the years, the gate line has expanded to cover the multiple needs of our customers. We now make wall mounted, pressure, freestanding, and customizable enclosures, including a JPMA innovation award in 2008 for the first gate to work in a sliding glass door frame. Our safety products now include hearth padding, edge cushion, corner cushions,

door and cabinet locks, just to name a few. As a testament to the quality of our gates, a mother of six recently called in for some parts for a Stairway Special (Model SS-30). She had used the gates with her first five children, put the gates away, and brought them back out once again for child number six. She just needed some replacement hinge brackets, as she couldn’t find them. Of course, we sent them to her straight away. Can you imagine another gate that could take almost 10 years of use and abuse, or another company that can send replacement parts for a product that is over a decade old, or a company that truly enjoys helping their customers this much? We can. It’s Cardinal Gates. Or what about the professional dog boarder who has purchased a total of 12 Autolock Gates (Model MG-15) over the past eight years? She told us she hasn’t been replacing gates; rather, she has been expanding the areas in her home where she can keep dogs. Clearly, this is a life long customer who appreciates the ease of use of this gate and the durability of the product. Read these testimonials and others on the next page. It’s all been a lot of work, a lot of good times, and, most of all, a great achievement for everyone who works here. Plenty of friend’s children and dogs have been photographed over the years, some willingly, others plied with treats, a few breaking down into crying fits. Some pieces of CG lore: Craig’s daughter is pictured on the Autolock Gate at age two (she’s now 9) and Annette’s daughter is on the Pressure Gate Box. As our growth continued, we moved into a new warehouse at the end of 2007, weathered the economic storm of 2008-2010, and have continued to expand as we meet our 20th year. Our growth would not have been possible without all of our great customers, many of whom have been with us since the beginning. I use them both indoors (10) and outside (2). I have a big house and run a small in-home dog boarding business, so I definitely need the gates to help manage my little 4-legged visitors. KE Metal-Backed Hearth Guard This patented product was the first product Cardinal Gates ever sold! The Metal-Backed Hearth Guard means no adhesive necessary, no damage done to the fireplace. The pad is adhered to a telescoping metal frame, which is adjustable for hearths 45” to 76”. A 24” extension is available for wider hearths. Use of no more than one mid-extension is recommended. NOTE: This product is for standard, 3-sided hearths with 90° corners.
