Facebook Events
• Events are a great way to promote things that are happening at your pharmacy or in the community
• Blood Pressure Screenings
• Prescription Educational programs
• July is UV Safety Month
• Fans and non fans can RSVP to your events
• RSVPs spread the word about your event
• When someone RSVPs to your event this is shared on their profile wall
Adding Events on Facebook
• Navigate to your Page and click on the events tab and click “Create an Event”
• Fill in the date, time, location, description and click “Create Event”
Promoting Events on Facebook
• Invite guests
• Navigate to your event page and click
• Event invites can only be sent to your personal Facebook friends, not to Page fans
• Send an update to fans
• From the event page click
• RSVP to your own event
• Tag event page in status updates
• You must RSVP to the event in order to tag it
• Same as tagging other pages and people
Live Tweeting - Promoting Events on Twitter
• Live tweeting generates buzz around an event
• Before
• Establish a hashtag
• Share registration URL with followers
• During
• Use hashtag in ALL tweets about the event
• Share event insights and engage
• Use @ usernames
• After
• Share highlights
• Follow back

• Hashtags Checklist
• Create a hashtag that is• Relevant to your event• Short – easy to type, fit into a tweet and leave room for message
• Search for hashtag on Twitter Search http://search.twitter.com • Make sure it is available, not being using to promote another event
• Start using hashtag in all event tweets

Adding Photos and Video to Facebook
• Directly from the wall or each tab/page
• Photos posted to the wall will be placed in a “Wall Photos” album
• To create a photo album, use the Photos tab
• Click “Upload Photos/Video” and select files
• You can select multiple photos by holding down control or command key
• Remember to optimize albums, titles and descriptions so these can be easily found in search engines!

• When prompted publish the new photos and video update on your wall
• This alerts your fans that you have new media to view
• Photos and video are great ways to start a conversation and increase activity on your page
• Remember to engage with fans
• Encourage fans to comment on photos
• Ask fans to tag themselves and their friends

• New Facebook share functionality allows you to share photos and video directly to your page wall

Adding 2nd RSS Feed to Facebook Page
• Visit http://apps.facebook.com/rssgraffiti
• Click “Add feed”
• Under Basics
• Enter feed URL, source name and source URL, Select Standard
• Transform
• Select “Same as item’s title”
• Schedule
• Update frequency – select how often you want to post new stories
• Posts per cycle – how many stories are posted each time, we usually set this at 1
• Precedence – Freshness to show the most recent news

• Check Advanced Settings for update frequency
• Authenticate your Twitter profile• Must be logged into Twitter profile
