PREFACE

Purpose of Document

This document provides an explanation of Compass functionality in Compass XD. Cardinal will be adding new functionality in each release.

Technical Requirements

The following are browser requirements which must be met prior to using Compass XD. It is recommended the browser is kept up to date for the latest security patches, vulnerability patches and latest HTML features.

Minimum Requirements:

Firefox – Cardinal Software supports Firefox version 18 and above.

Chrome – Cardinal Software supports Chrome 24.0.1312 and above.

Internet Explorer –

• Cardinal Software supports Internet Explorer 10.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 is not supported due to significant changes made to the web handling of JAVA by Microsoft.

• Also, backward compatibility must be turned off.

Turn off Automatic Update for Internet Explorer 10

Step Action 1 Click on the Tools icon, located in the upper right corner of the screen. 2 Click on About Internet Explorer.

3 Click to uncheck Install new versions automatically.

4 Click on Close.

Turn off Backward Compatibility To turn off backward compatibility, use the following steps.

Step Action 1 Click on the Tools icon, located in the upper right corner of the screen. 2 Click on Compatibility View Settings.

3 Ensure the field Display intranet sites in Compatibility View is un-checked.

4 Close the Internet Explorer browser to ensure the settings have taken.

CIS Inquiry

In the new Compass XD there is one point of entry for a CIS Search. What used to require entry of information into three different screens has now been changed into a smart search. This requires only a single point of entry to perform an Inquiry.

Navigation

Locate a Customer Account

Step Action 1 Key a Name, Social Security Number, Account Number, or CIS. 2 Click Search button. This will display either a list of accounts or the specific account,

depending on the criteria that was entered.

Display Details Any time a grid has a plus (+) sign beside a record, there is information to be displayed. Click to display the details.

Organizing and Rearranging View Cardinal has also made it possible to change the view in a grid.

Data Table Search You have the ability to search a data table for information, regardless of the column in which it resides.

The data table search can be a very general search or as specific as you desire. Key as much detail as you have available to you into the Search field and it will locate anything within context of your criteria.

Example:

If you entered “25” into the Search field, it would pull up the following items with 25 within their data.

Account Number “125685”

Balance “275.25”

Messages

The are two levels of messages displayed. The messages displayed are dependent upon the location in which the search is performed.

Customer Level These messages are now displayed using a display box, rather than opening another screen. Customer and Account level messages display once a CIS search has been performed and the Customer Name has been selected to Display. An account number does not need to be selected to see these messages.

Message headers can also be used here to sort the column or rearranged columns by dragging the column to where you prefer to see the information.

To see the details of the message, click on the plus (+) sign located in the first column.

Account Level These messages are displayed after an account record has been selected. The Customer level messages are not displayed with these messages.

The Customer Information screen replaces the CIS Inquiry screen of Compass.

Customer Information Tabs The CIS Info tab consists of the same information as previously viewed on the Display CIS Information in Compass. The tabs across the top are mostly the same and a few have been added.

• Documents – the View Documents button previously located on the CIS Information tab is now located on Customer Information.

The following tabs were promoted from the Customer Display screen in Compass to Customer Information.

• Codes - The codes section in Compass is now located on the Code tab on Customer Information.

To make viewing a relationship between two accounts easier, clicking on the relationship in the grid opens another instance of Compass XD another tab.

The following FKey functions were promoted from the Customer Display screen to Customer Information tabs.

• Other Info

• Mgt Codes

• Officers

• Profitability

To better view the Account list, click on the minus (-) sign to contract the Customer Information section.

Alerts

The alerts are more dynamic. Alerts were displayed at the bottom of the CIS screen.

In Compass XD, the Alerts are displayed at the bottom of the screen and will scroll if there are more than can be displayed.

Hide Alerts A benefit of Compass XD is the ability to hide Customer Alerts. Once alerts have been reviewed, click on the arrow to hide them.

Once a different account number is selected, the Customer Alerts will re-appear at the bottom of the screen for the loaded account.
